    1. I cannot believe this series slipped under my radar for 30 years. Refreshing and original, I've no doubt I'll read them again before the Grim Reaper claims me. Each of the four books almost stand alone, but add up to a greater whole.     2. The Four Lords of the DiamondThis is an amazing read, and had I taken to one of the four included books alone, I might not have enjoyed it so much. The compilation includes so many different genres in it, but not in each individual book. Since I was not as diversified in my tastes back the first time, I might not have picked it up as a Sci Fi single, or a Mystery. I did pick it up because I had a friend who told me it was Fantasy.
