    1. First off I need to point out this is not a genre I normally read. That doesn't matter in terms of a review. I liked the story, and it did keep me engaged. The writing is decent although I personally had a few issues with the vernacular. I'm Canadian and it got to be a little much, eh. C'mon that's funny? Anyway, I do feel the story could have definitely used a further edit, I mean how many times do I seriously need to know Hugo's Mercedes was navy blue? (except at the start of chapter 19-somehow [...]

    2. Claire works in the recovery unit at a hospital and has a crush on a surgeon. (Hugo) She is determined to have a relationship with him. The only problem is, he is married and she has a partner. Nevertheless, she pursues the man of her dreams and is happy when he responds to her advances. However, things do not go smoothly. The book keeps you guessing for quite a while as to whether there will be an affair and possible long-term relationship between the main character and her romantic interest. Cl [...]

    3. Reviewed by: Annie ArcaneA free copy was provided by the author.Initial thoughts:The plot had potential and there were flashes of brilliance in the dialogue. What I loved:There was something very "genuine" about the writing style. It was almost as if the author had a movie playing in her head and was translating into book format as she watched the events unfold on screen. In a way, this kept the story continually flowing and well-paced.James also did a great job of handling the cast, which was pr [...]

    4. I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This book is a stand alone and has a shocking ending. This book was enjoyable but some parts dreaded on and I kept getting whiplash on whether she loved her boyfriend or didn't. I liked the characters Claire's best friend seems to have her act together and she's on the right path. I think that is what triggers Claire because she feels she doesn't have the same spark as her friend. The moral of the story, don't cheat. It was very awkward at the [...]

    5. I found this story to be different to what I normally read I did enjoy it it was intriguing I'm not giving spoilers away never do in my reviews but will read more from this author I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.

    6. I did enjoy the book although there were a few instances when the action seemed just a bit too much. However, the pace was good and the characters well rounded. I wasn't very sure I wanted to read the book in the beginning because I understood from previous reviews that the editing made everything confusing (I don't really care about a misspelling here and there - I've seen it in books published by the Big 5 so) but probably the book had been edited because it was clear enough to read and I didn [...]

    7. 2 guys working in the same place who are hot for each other. Love it. A gorgeous gal who has the hots for a well built orthopedic consultant surgeon who happens to be married. She- Claire--decides to make friends with his wife-what is she doing? Trying to get closer to him? The whole time that I was reading this great book I felt as if a Lifetime movie was playing in my head. The story flowed so well. The characters were a great cast even though the book was a short one. I really enjoyed this bo [...]

    8. I enjoyed the unusual way this short read began- with a list of characters and their roles, like you’d see when reading a play.26-year-old nurse Claire Frazer feels like her three year long relationship with Ritchie has gone stale and is not progressing. She finds herself making friends with the wife of Hugo, a doctor at the hospital where she works. And she finds herself hot to trot for Hugo.We may feel that this will not end well but you’ll have to read it to see. :)Unfortunately, this deb [...]

    9. This was nNot what I expected . I thought it was going to be a murder mystery and it ended up being more intrigue but in a good way. It kept you guessing until the end whether Claire would choose Hugo or Ritchie and when she does make a choice it's with dire consequences .Good Read

    10. Every once in a while you meet a character who rubs you the wrong way, in every way. The heroine of Room Service, Claire Frazer, is that person for me. Claire is exceptionally beautiful, a point made ad nauseam. In the second paragraph of chapter one, Claire is described as a “stunningly beautiful blonde.” In chapter two, we’re told that “She looked stunning and tan” and that “She was a showstopper.” Sometimes, it’s dropped into a paragraph about someone else. (. . . and then the [...]

    11. 3.5 starsright away we are swept away into this amazing world B.B. James created, and may I just say what a fun, sexy and romantic, dramatic and complex world it is! It really is a challenge to do a storyline in a way that hasn’t been done to death – give it a fresh and unique vibe so as to make us feel like we are reading something new. I liked that as I read this book nothing was what I thought it would be. It did take a while for the real tension to take hold (the beginning was a bit slow [...]

    12. 4.5 starsI’m not sure exactly how to describe this book by B.B. James, other than being a fun, wild romantic ride!! I was genuinely impressed with not only the creative world building and the strong writing, but it was also the way the characters interacted with one another in a way that really made me FEEL something. I always felt like I was really part of the story and enjoying the ‘fun’ parts along with the characters, and like a fly on the wall for some of their conversations and escap [...]

    13. I like the fact that “Room Service” by B.B. James is a fully-realized, creatively romantic and emotional ride, but without all the excessive, contrived drama that can ruin the believability. The main characters of Claire, Hugo, Jinny and Ritchie, as well as the wonderful (large) supporting cast face several interesting challenges, romantic and professional. In my opinion it is in the characterizations where James really shines – they are so believable and fully-fleshed out with great, uniq [...]

    14. I read this book from B.B. James in just a few evenings and really enjoyed it. It was unique, fun, and scandalous. Even though there are familiar elements (romantic problems, secrets from the past, misunderstandings and romantic complications) it is all bound together in a way that is nothing like anything I’ve read before---And I loved it! Liked having the setting be based around a hospital with medical professionals, and the fact that Hugo is a sexy surgeon is so hot! The steam, the intrigue [...]

    15. I’ve been in a little bit of a reading funk lately, but much to my surprise (and delight) I gobbled up “Room Service” by B.B. James in just one afternoon/evening! And it’s a pretty long book, too! James just paints scenes and characters so well we are in their lives and invested before we know what hits us. But what I love about this book is that it just feels real, with real issues, and not just based on sex like so many drama/ romance books are these days (unfortunately), but real rela [...]

    16. I love when I can pick up a book and feel completely transported to another place and live other people’s fun, sexy even dangerous lives for a while. And this is the perfect book for such an escape! I was caught by surprise by how passionate, descriptive, naughty, and just downright fun this book was, but that’s not to say it didn’t have its share of conflict and unexpected surprises! It is fast paced and you just get swept up in Claire and Jinny’s romantic/personal adventures and the me [...]

    17. "Room Service” is this cool mix of romantic intrigue, friendship, and the dramatic work place… Despite the things they go through it feels real, even when a bit crazy or even unbelievable… almost like a mid-life ‘coming of age’ in the sense that they are figuring out who they are and what they want out of men, of themselves, and life in general. B.B. James writes with an almost dizzying energy and we are swept up in Claire’s story (also her BFF Jinny, and romantic interests of Hugo a [...]

    18. I love drama and romance and have been enjoying the explosion of talent in this genre. I like how this book isn’t just a ‘romance’ book, but has storylines about work, and friendships, colleagues, and also romantic complications. It is daring and with high personal stakes (things didn’t feel ‘safe’) and B.B. James definitely wasn’t afraid to put her characters through some tough personal situations and tragedies. I felt like I was watching a movie as I read it and liked how despite [...]

    19. Well this is a really different type of book for me, as I normally read mystery/thriller & suspense. But I was looking for something a little different, and this book “Room Service” looked interesting… and something I could maybe relate to. Well, I loved it! Loved every page, every adventure with the guys, and the friendship with Claire and Jinny. Great, high-energy writing, quirky humor, and down-to-earth ‘realness’ when it came to dialog and the relationships- whether it be co-wo [...]

    20. 4.5 stars"Room Service” by B.B. James was an entertaining and engaging story that is very easy to read. There are a lot of characters, but the main focus is on Claire and Hugo, with Jinny and Ritchie coming in close behind. The tone is light and humorous, at times, serious and dramatically complex at others, and the pacing fast. I was never bored and have to say I was surprised more than once, which is rare. The author B.B. James has a natural voice that makes it seem like a good girlfriend is [...]

    21. Ok, I totally loved this book! It was so fun and easy to read, and definitely not predictable at all… I don’t know if there will be any more after this with these characters, because I am a little bummed that it ended just as it was getting very dramatic, but I can assure you I’ll be reading it if there is. I like that Ms. James writes very descriptively and with great detailing (maybe too much sometimes?) so that we can really imagine ourselves in the story (or the hospital) with Claire, [...]

    22. I have to agree with the other reviewers- the story is intriguing and has a lot of potentials. However, the sheer number of characters, the repetitions, and some awkward writing/words made it difficult to fully enjoy- and yet I kept reading. As another reviewer mentioned, it seems almost like the author was watching a movie in her head and retelling the story. With an edit or two, this book could be amazing!
