    1. Interesting tale although I didn’t become involved with any of the characters. Halfway through the well-written novel, I failed to grasp where the plot was headed. The strangely alluring story unfolded like a wisp of magic mist that often curls into the young trainee’s capes. After having no story-questions answered, the ending left me unsatisfied, leaving the need for a further novel, a device which I don’t like.     2. This page-turning debut fantasy novel was a delight from start to finish. The characters are charming, and the woven fantasy world-building both detailed and believable. I look forward to reading more from this author.

    3. The Emperor's Horn was not at all what I expected. Taking a different direction than I anticipated, the two main characters were the chummiest of friends. The main setting was reminiscent of a certain magical school we all know and love, with magic and adventure galore, but also exploring beyond the school grounds and plots to define something larger than what even the main characters realize.
