    1. Wow. I had no idea what to expect from this book, but it was absolutely brilliant. It started of as the most beautiful, awkward, cringey, cheesy, adorable love story ever. I was completely in love with the two characters and everything was perfect. But then the ending came along and shattered my heart into tiny pieces and it was so sad and just ASDFGHJkjsdhfsidf I can't deal!!!Katie is an awesome protagonist. Her character felt so real and honest, the way she overcame obstacles and triedd to fit [...]

    2. I don't think I have ever read a book more cringeworthy than this. Officially my least favourite book of the year. I have So. Many. Issues. with this lame book but I'll keep it short. It feels like a cheap ripoff of Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon (which I also didn't really enjoy) but then filled with possibly every afwul cliche and horrendous trope that exists in the history of YA Contemporary novels. A girl who has basically never seen daylight is good at everything she does for the firs [...]

    3. First can we just appreciate the beauty of this cover. its so beautiful and fits right in with the book. This book is so cheesy but so beautiful and full of happiness. Katie who is the main charcater has xp which means she sleeps during the day and goes out at night. she has an amazing support circle around her with a dad who cares and her safety and health and loves her to bits and a best friend who keeps her sane during the day when she comes around and cant go out like the rest of the world. [...]

    5. 3.5 starsI bought this book yesterday because I'm really excited to watch the film but I really wanted to read the book beforehand. I really enjoyed this story and I found all the characters to be very likeable which made me constantly read on and see what happened to them. The story was very cheesy snd young for me but I can't resist some cheesy romance. It shattered my heart and warmed it all at once, I'm really looking forward to watching the movie.

    6. Actual rating: 3.5This book is heartbreaking. That much is clear given the synopsis that we’re exposed to right from the start. Our lovely main character has a rare disorder called XP, which means that the suns rays are extremely deadly. She happens to fall in love with a guy that she’s been watching from afar for years, and the rest is history This is a really good book. I’d say that the target demographic for this one seems to be in the early teens, but it’s still a good read even if y [...]

    8. Not a super brilliant read but I'll admit I definitely cried and laughed with this book. Loved how relatable Katie was despite her disease. 3.5/4 stars

    9. Amazing. I finished it in biology class and I was crying! The ending was great, suited the story really well. Can't wait for the movie.

    10. The reason why my rating for this book is so low is that at times I felt it was cheesy and unrealistic. There are some aspects of this story that I loved, but I was annoyed with the characters most of the time. I didn’t care about them and I would’ve wanted to. I had very high expectations for this read and I’m disappointed to give it 2 out of 5 stars.😢2/5 ⭐️⭐️

    11. Not sure if this is 4 or 5 star. I hated the start of this book HoWEVER Katie is one of my favourite characters ever. I love her. I love the relationship or Charlie and Katie. The end is a real tearjerker. It's so peaceful but also extremely sad. I rarely cry when it comes to books (When a book tries to be sad I'm all like "eh") and this made tears fall.I love you Katie.

    12. This novel, whilst being at times quite cheesy was nonetheless rather enjoyable. Whimsical, adorably awkward, heartwarming, tearjerking; Midnight Sun is an easy read for anybody who loves books along the lines of Everything, Everything and A Walk To Remember and who simply enjoys a good old summertime romance!

    13. This book’s origin as a movie is very very obvious. That being said, I absolutely fell in love with Katie. She is adorably awkward and has a heart of gold. The book is full of sweet moments and the ending left me speechless. If you’re looking for a quick easy read that will both warm and break your heart, this book is perfect for you.“I’m actually just like everyone else, with the major exception of the ‘can’t go out in the sun’ thing.” - Katie Price

    14. We received this book as a Christmas present and we were just so excited to start reading it! We decided to add this book to our January TBR for the #AusYaBloggers reading challenge. We are just honestly so lost for words after reading this book! It was so romantic and so heartbreaking. It was just so beautifully written and left us experiencing happy tears and sad tears at the same time. “I’m actually just like everyone else, with the major exception of the ‘can’t go out in the sun’ th [...]

    15. One of the reasons I was initially drawn to this story was because of its focus on XP, as it's a disease I've never seen focused on in a novel before, and I was looking forward to seeing it represented, and learning more about it. From that point, I was hooked on the idea of the romance, and I was really looking forward to seeing where this would lead as the story unfolded.Katie was a protagonist I both liked and disliked at the same time. She's been dealt some pretty harsh life circumstances, a [...]

    17. I loved this book. It taught me so much, although, I don't know what that is yet, if you understand what I mean. The message it gave to me was amazing, live your life to the fullest. I know it sounds cheesy, but it's so very true. The story that is told is beautiful. And not to sound cliche, the events, like going night swimming, and watching the sunset from the boat, have always been something I dreamed of. For me, it was amazing to see those dreams unfold on paper, and be told in such a beauti [...]

    18. READ IN 4 HOURS. I devoured this book!! I can’t imagine having this sickness, so sad. First of all, I loved Katie. She’s awkwardly funny and I wish I could be her best friend. Can I also say that I’m extremely excited to hear Bella Thorne sing and play guitar?! This movie is going to be phenomenal. Getting back to the book, I really wasn’t expecting the ending. I feel sorry for the dad because not only did he lose the love of his live but he also lost his only daughter. But in the end he [...]

    20. If you want a fast read this will work. It was a good book, but I wish it had more to the plot. It did not have a lot to it. However this book is very interesting because I never even knew what XP was in the first place. I saw the movie was coming out and wanted to read the book first so I did. It was a book that I did not put down though. It kept me reading till the very end. It was a tear jerker for sure though. If you like "A walk to remember" then you will like this book.

    21. I'd give this 3.5 stars, it was a very fast read and while cringe-y in places, the main character was likable and it was a cute story. It also made me cry, which surprised me. The real part that I had a problem with, was that things felt so accelerated and rushed in the book, which made the book overall feel more unrealistic. But I would overall recommend--it would be a good vacation/travel read.

    22. Well this was a book that I picked up at a local ‘Blind Date With a Book’ for Valentine’s Day. I think that this isn’t a book I would have picked up on my own but it wasn’t as out of my comfort zone as I had hoped. It was a good love story but it just felt a little blah. There were things happening but it was fluffy. If you’re looking for a light read I would recommend this book.

    23. Midnight Sun by Trish Cook *4 stars *02/25/2018I heard Midnight Sun will be a movie and I liked the trailer so I decided to read the book. It is cute and easy read, very fast paced, maybe even a bit too much. I really enjoy fast pace and short books. But this time it made seem like something was missing. In general I really liked the book and can't wait to watch the movie. Overall 4 stars.

    24. So the book was good. But I give 3 stars because it’s kinda a typical, girl has a disease, falls for a boy, they meet and fall in love, she dies. Like idk, it’s just too typicalBut i will say, the book is good in a sense, that it kept me captivated the whole time, wanting more, and the writing was good. I hope the movie is good as well.

    25. Dumb is the single word I would to summarise this book. It clearly written to make you cry, bad job of it as well, I cry at almost anything and not once. The end is rushed out and all the characters have as much depth as printer paper. The lesson is life is precious and don't lie or (view spoiler)[ you're die. (hide spoiler)]

    26. Very cliche average characters. Smart girl who is secretly really pretty, fake popular girl, jock, overly protective best friend. My favorite part was the exposing of a rare disease. I’m all for diversity, even if the book wasn’t good. It just reminded me a poorly written fanfiction. The dad was awesome though.
