    1. Although this book deals specifically with the scandals and cover-ups within the Independent Fundamental Baptist denomination it is alarming to see how closely the Sovereign Grace Ministries/C.J. Mahaney sexual abuse scandal and cover-up mimic what has gone on in the IFB. What follows are some quotes I found interesting."Everett Farris did not require a public statement from Dave Hyles on what happened the night that Brent Stevens died, nor why Dave summoned his father first, waited for him to a [...]

    2. Excellent work describing what a perfect outlet the IFB church is for the sociopathic personality. I am familiar with many of the names mentioned. I appreciate the author's meticulous research for this important book. Too many ignorant people are duped by "men of God" and their lives are ruined in so many ways; financially, sexually, mentally, sucking the individuality, the humanness out of well-meaning folks. I don't consider myself a born-again Christian anymore, and the book in my opinion is [...]

    3. The definitions addressing the important issues of conscience, morality, holiness, true religion and the personality issues of sociopath's and the schizophrenic reasoning behind many decisions and values in IFB and other fundamentalist church culture is what make this book important for today's culture to read.

    4. In Schizophrenic Christianity, Jeri Massi starts with a historical overview of the beginnings of the IFB denomination. I found it very interesting and quite useful since I am a former Independent Fundamental Baptist. The IFB church prides itself on being separated from the world. But they have also separated from other groups of believers as well (one such group was the Southern Baptist denomination). This "doctrine of separation," as it were, is held by most IBF churches today, whether stated o [...]

    5. An excellent behind-the-scenes look at some of the profound problems with Christian Fundamentalism. While I might not agree with all Ms. Massi's takeaways, she does a phenomenal job unveiling much of the sordid history that has plagued IFB churches. Her insights into some of the innate dangers of the IFB structures are interesting and show profound understanding of these delicate matters. A good read for any ex-Fundies or those still inside the circle with questions.

    6. This book is a "must read" for all current and former independent, fundamental Baptists. It is long on facts and short on opinions. Read it and draw your own conclusions. If you've ever been involved with a fundamental church, this book should affect you in some way - it may upset you, it may sadden you, but it will make you think.

    7. A bit wordy and personal in spots (lots of spots actually) but if even half of what she purports is true then why why why is no one storming the gates of fundamentalist churches and screaming for the madness to stop?

    8. Good overview of how psychopaths infiltrate fundamentalist christian churches, and how easy it is for them to do!

    9. Child abuse in fundamentalist Baptist churchesExpose of fundie pastors of independent Baptist churches that get away with child sex abuse and allowed to remain as minister.
