    1. Same Review Also Posted In My Blog: Dreamy AddictionsWell, this was an okay read but not impressive enough to amaze me. I picked this up solely because of it’s beautiful cover and also because I love the concept of angels and demons in paranormal genre. This book felt like a typical YA paranormal read that I’ve already read so many times before. Honestly, I probably would’ve loved it if I had read this ten years back. Basing on the synopsis, it’s pretty easy to predict what’s gonna hap [...]

    2. Angel books are hard. I feel like with the ones that I've read, you either get it or you don't. Sadly, this one fell short for me. I wasn't gripped from the beginning, in fact, I was quite bored. I felt nothing for the characters and the plot twists were fairly obvious. My main issue with this book was the main character Julia. She was quite horrible. I never connected with her and I didn't feel anything when she was in "peril". All she did was whine about how horrible her life was and equate ev [...]

    3. Checkout my full review on my blog! omgbooksandmorebooks.I primary picked this book for the aspect of angels and the pretty cover. There were some elements that I did enjoy but some parts I was iffy. I primary enjoyed Julia and her strength and wit. I enjoyed the writing. The story was engaging and a quick read. The premise of an epic battle of angles and demons was what I enjoyed most about this book. I would read anything that has this aspect in a novel. The battle scenes were epic, yes really [...]

    4. Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?Julia is a fun character. I found her to be easy to relate to, and I loved how she took in new information and when it came down to it she really grabbed the bull by the horns and got things doneonce she realized what she was supposed to be doing. She took initiative, I guess you could say. She still has a lot to learn. I think we all do. I think there's more going one here. Cole and Nicholas, for example. I'm not sure how I feel about them yet. I'm more drawn [...]

    5. All Julia can think about is finishing school and getting a job so she can help out her mum and younger brother. After fighting off a robber at her mum's diner, Julia realises that there are things about her father and herself that she never knew. Unexpectedly voted Homecoming Queen, Julia is thrown together with Cole, a popular boy at school who turns out to have secrets of his own. Then there is Nicholas, a mysterious guy who keeps turning up wherever Julia is. I enjoyed this book for the most [...]

    6. A fascinating first book in a series that kept me not only excited to read from one chapter to another, but anticipating the next installment as well. Julia is a likable though flawed character. She believes her desire for money and security is just because she wants to take care of her family, but greed is greed, as she's reminded in the end. She has wonderful supporting characters in Molly, Frankie and Mitch. Dialogue is realistic, though a little icky with Cole, which I think is a good choice [...]

    7. Amazing take on angels and demons from a debut author. The plot of this book was fast paced and went from semi-contemporary at the beginning to paranormal by the conclusion of the book. This book packed a lot in and completed the urban-fantasy world building in a way reminiscent of The Mortal Instruments series. The characters themselves were flawed and well-rounded individuals. Julia was particularly driven and focused and this leant to a complete collapse of her world upon the discovery of thi [...]

    8. I inhaled it in less than a day. Very quick read with good writing and an intriguing premise. I had a little trouble at first connecting with Julia (probably because I am long gone from being a teenager), but I forged ahead and after a while, the story drew me in.

    9. 3.5 Stars'When Ash Rains Down' is the first book in a new young adult paranormal series that fans of the genre are sure to enjoy. The story is one of demons and angels, the war between good and evil, and our unique heroine's ability to decide the fate of everyone. It might not be the most original plot, the author's writing really brings the story to life and sets it apart from others similar to it. The main character, Julia, is a great lead for the book. She's realistic, down to earth, loves he [...]

    10. Actual Rating: 3.5**Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for honest review.** Julia is having a rough time in her life. She's unhappy with her home and her mother's diner. She spends all of her time either caring for her brother, doing schoolwork, or at her nighttime job. She doesn't have time for friends or dating.Yet, she's suddenly nominated as homecoming queen? That's odd. And weirder, yet, are the things that begin to happen around her. People behaving strang [...]

    11. Just look at this cover! Isn’t stunning? The story inside is just as good. When Ash Rains Down is book #1 in Cecelia Earl’s Kingdom Come series. It’s exciting, fast-paced and super addictive! My Thoughts….I really like this one. It is very well-written and I quite enjoyed the characters. When Ash Rains Down is devoted to a lot of characterization and I really loved that. If I am going to be committing myself to a whole series, it is important to me that I really know the characters I am g [...]

    12. 4.5 Stars! When Ash Rains Down was a splendid novel for fans of ya fantasy! I really enjoyed the author's take on angels vs. demons. It was exciting and memorable.Julia is a hardworking student. She has two jobs and great grades. All she's focused on this year is graduating early. But her world is turned upside down after a series of events that will change everything. This novel had some great and interesting characters! Julia was a selfless and strong person because she would do anything to take [...]

    13. This is a really great story!Julia has-been caught in a really bad path in life. Everything and a little more happens to her in a short time. And none of it is pleasant. She has to go through a lot of bad and hurting situations. People around here are hurt, fire destroy and in the same time a mysterious guy appears. He calls Julia Angel and when she tell him that her name is Julia he tries to convince her that she IS an Angel. He also tell her that everything that gone bad is because of her being [...]

    14. Wow! What a fantastic YA story! Fast paced this well written paranormal read has plenty of action & has some great characters & plenty of twists & turns! It grabbed me from the first page & I can't wait to read book 2!

    15. Do you believe in Angels and Demons? Well Julia didn't until the pain in her back turned out to be wings. She finds out that her father was an Angel. She has to decide if she wants to fight in the up coming battle between good and evil. Can't wait until the next book to find out

    16. What an amazing story from a first time author for me. Julia has a necklace that has songs of angels which suddenly stops. Loved every bit

    17. What a cool concept and story. I loved the mix of Angels and demons and "normal" people in the middle of nowhere trying to survive. It is the story of Julia and what happens to her during a week in her senior year in high school. Full of drama, high schoolers, angels, demons, friends, and family, I found it to be a exciting YA story that was pretty clean in terms of sex but full of PG crazy fight scenes (blood, goo and swords are involved). Loved the different take on demons and how Julia figure [...]

    18. A fresh take on Angels vs Demons. Overall it is a good storyline but I did not really care for or become invested in the characters. The female lead is cold and unfeeling for everyone except her mother and brother which makes me wonder why everyone keeps trying to be her friend. Hopefully she will grow as a person as the story continues.

    19. I received a free copy of this novel for my unbiased opinion. This is the best young adult paranormal novel I have read since the Harry Potter series. I love how Julia is portrayed as a strong intelligent young woman. She has two guardians but when she is by herself she is able to defend herself without help from the guardians. I can not wait to see how her relationship with her father evolves.

    20. When Ash Rains DownAn interesting and unique fantasy story that touches your soul. I enjoyed all the twist and turns. Angels and demons have always fascinated me and I like where the author is going with it. The struggles that the main character dealt with were real and raw really hitting the spot and was something I could identify with. I can't wait to find out what happens next. There's definitely a lot of unanswered questions and I'm anxious to discover the answers.

    21. An awesome young adult fantasy! I really enjoyed this. An epic battle of angels and demons, good and evil. I haven't read a lot of books with female angelic warriors, so that's definitely rad. Plus, she has a cool flaming sword. Fast-paced and sucks you into the story. Lots of juicy family drama. Oh, and did I mention not one but TWO yummy guardian angels dudes? Yep. Check it out!

    22. This was a great read, although it took me a while to get into it. But once I was hooked, I couldn't put it down. A beautifully written story of a girl struggling with the grey area between right and wrong. Sometimes it's easy to make the wrong choice for all the right reasons. Glad I can launch straight into book 2 in the series.

    23. Just finished reading the first 86 pages of the book. While I had a little difficulty getting started reading it, I was surprised when I got to the 86th page and wanted to continue reading. Can't wait for the rest of the book.

    24. Julia is an 18 year old who knows exactly what she wants: excellence in her senior year so she can go to college and be wildly successful. Her hopes and dreams revolve around her family: her mother and little brother whom she dedicates all her time to. When she is shockingly voted Homecoming Queen, her life of solo dependence changes as tragedy strikes and she finds herself fighting between two worlds. Julia is an admirable young woman. She prides herself in maintaining physical fitness and stre [...]

    25. Book, or hefty 200 page introduction about absolutely nothing? Hmmm. This would make so much sense as a prequel or a novella, albeit a very lacklustre one. Uninspiring characters in an uninspiring story.

    26. I hope you enjoy this book. I enjoyed writing it and continue to enjoy working with the characters as their story unfolds throughout the rest of the series!

    27. I hate writing bad reviews and I usually have something nice to say but I just could not get into this story at all, I had to force myself to finish this. The main character annoyed me the whole way through and wouldn't stop whining about money and it kind of pisssed me off, I did like that she was a strong character and didn't take shit and had a lot of love for her family I just think that part of her personality got over shadowed! The relationships felt underdeveloped and I didn't feel anythin [...]

    28. Julia wants more out of life for herself and her family, and she works hard to try and get it. Recently strange things have been happening to her, such as her ability to not be phased by a hard workout, her bottomless appetite, and the odd feeling in her back. But when a robber breaks in to steal her family restaurant, Julia fights him off but sees a strange image in his place. With no idea what is going on, she throws herself into activity, only to have her life implode around her.I am always l [...]
