    1. See more of my reviews at bookaddicthavenThe second book in the series, 'A Harmless Little Ruse' is told from Drew's POV. I have to say, it worked for me. After the first book, I had a lot of lingering doubts about his sincerity. Seeing things from his perspective really put my fears to rest.As Lindsay's father makes his intention to run for President official, Lindsay's attackers up their game. The text messages are more frequent and increasingly threatening. One of her attackers is even so bra [...]

    2. Rarely do I do a DNF, never mind that I've read books/series far more maddening than Harmless, still, I can't quite overlook the plot holes and shallow characterization of both Lindsay and Drew. Having read the first book, A Harmless Little Game, I hoped to continue, eager to know how Lindsay would enact vengeance(view spoiler)[ on those responsible for raping her. More likely, I had hopes of her inflicting death by dismemberment on one or two of her assailants. (hide spoiler)] Even that much I [...]

    3. I gave this 5 stars because I'm still trying to figure things out. Therefore the author was successful in stumping me. Although I've kind of figured out a few things, I question if I'm any closer to solving mystery. Who is the master puppeteer? This installment was told exclusively from Drew's POV and I couldn't be more grateful because from time to time, Lindsay really got on my nerves. I had more of an appreciation of her character when viewed from his perspective. Some of my questions were defi [...]

    5. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 STARS .So here we have the second instalment A harmless Little Ruse (Harmless, #2) By Meli Raine.I read this immediately upon finishing book one, I was that gripped by this story. This begins directly where the first one ends and unlike the previous tale is told from Drew's POV.This was a major plus point for me for as I believe I mentioned in my previous review that even though I liked Lindsay there were certain times I still found myself getting slightly irritated at the girl's [...]

    6. This is book two of a three part series and while I don't quite know the who and what of it, I'm enjoying the journey to finding out. Book two is told from Drew's point of view. What our heroine went through was traumatic in book one, but our hero has not gone unsuffered ( is trying to tell me that's not an actual word, but I like it). There are some revelations as to what Drew went through, but not many details. The story doesn't move along very fast at first but then it starts to change the pl [...]

    7. Book two starts off where book one ended. This installment is all in Drew's POV and we find out more heartbreaking details about what went on that night four years earlier. I had a suspicion at the direction this author was going in regards to what happened to Drew and unfortunately I was correct. Not unfortunately as in it was bad writing, but more the fact that scenario is a trigger for me and it would have been nice to have gotten a heads up in the blurb. Just me 2cents.That aside things are [...]

    9. Omg omg omg. *deep breath* Okay, I've just finished. LOVED the beginning. This book was super strategic to be told from Drew's POV. I also really liked the ending but found the middle to be a little more lacklustre in comparison to the first book and the events in other stages of this story. However, Meli writes one hell of a hook and an even better cliffhanger. My one grievance from book one was that I wasn't sold on the relationship aspect between these two but wow, I'm buying it hook, line an [...]

    10. I wake up to an empty bed. It’s not mine.Lindsay’s gone.I can feel a change in the air. I jump to my feet, instantly alert, blood pumping to arms and legs that are battle-ready. Her bedroom room smells like lavender and beeswax, mingled with the hot scent of sex. I swear her heat still lingers on the sheets. The ceiling fan is still, the room crackling with silence.I grab my gun belt and —What the hell?My weapon is missing.Gun’s gone.Lindsay’s gone.Oh, shit. She didn’t?She did.I don't [...]

    11. You know how as readers when we find a series that we love we want to keep on reading it but the authors often don't write fast enough unless you're someone like Alexa Riley? That's how I am about Meli Raine's new series Harmless. I have just finished last week Book #2 A Harmless Litte Ruse, and now I can't wait to read the third book. At the end of Book #1, we read as the relationship between Lindsay and Drew was becoming more complicated and that neither knew who they could trust. We readers, [...]

    12. rpmbt-blog/rpmbt/review-a-In A Harmless Little Game we got Lindsay’s point of view, in A Harmless Little Ruse we got Drew’s point of view, and while we got some answers, but I was left with even more questions and am now counting down the days till the final book in this trilogy is released! In book one, we realized that Drew was holding something back, but what? Well we find out in this installment and it’s shocking to say the least. Everything gets more and more confusing and you just can [...]

    13. O. M. G. This story. That ending! My jaw is dropped! I am HOOKED on every single word! This is one of the most exciting stories I have ever read. Usually things are obvious, there's small clues that leave the reader already guessing and knowing what is going on and who is behind it all. Not this one. I loved that this book was told completely from Drew's point of view. He's hiding some big secrets."I want Lindsay to confess to me and trust in me and lean on me and let me protect her and love her [...]

    14. dnf, i loved the previous book but this one im having the opposite reaction

    15. Unrealistic twists and turns!Aside from the plot holes in this book the thing i hated most about this book is the writing style. The style is prosaic, poetic and lyricalwho muses like that - this style makes for a long winded one sided annoying soliloquy of a person's musings on both the hero and heroines love. Meaning before normal conversations can be had it takes forever! I hate hate hate this writing style because it disconnects me from the character due to my heavy eye-rolls and frustrated [...]

    16. Just when I thought I couldn't love Drew more than this, he proved me so wrong!!! A Harmless Little Rusetold in Drew's point of view helps in joining so many pieces together of this fucked up political puzzle.I loved the thrill in this book and loved Drew's determination to protect Lindsay at any cost even more!!This series is a must read for all suspense or thriller romance lovers!!

    17. So many twists and turns and more and more pieces to the puzzle from the horrible night Drew and Lindsay were violently torn apart. This is book two in the Harmless series and is completely from Drew's POV. Book 1, Lindsay's POV, is recommended to be read first or you will be lost with this one. Drew finally has Lindsay back after four years apart, but with new threats on her life and her father announcing his bib for presidency and someone with plans to make Drew look incompetent, they are bein [...]

    18. This isn't the best written series I've ever read, but I'm hooked! Book 2 is written from Drews point of view, and it's very well done. I'm not sure who's playing who, roll on book 3!!

    19. It was free. I knew from reading the first one that the writing was not going to be great and the plot would be lackluster, but the storyline itself was compelling enough that I wanted to see how it played out. I started giving myself a headache from rolling my eyes too many times. The plot was even less believable than the first in the series. The POV switches from Lindsey to Drew, and it does not make either character better. They are both totally flat, and it's an effort to care about what ha [...]
