    1. Review: SOUTHWYCK by Christina WaymreenSOUTHWYCK is a delightful magical (literally) fantasy starring young Kar Homely of Wyck. Kar, who has a happy home life and sentient furniture, turns 13, the age at which Wyck citizens discover "What's your magic?" Kar can't wait! Unfortunately, neither can evil, and Kar and his best friends and classmates must undertake the hero's journey and quest to save Wyck.

    2. I received a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.I thought I would enjoy this book, but I had no idea that I would like it so much. The world that the author developed was intriguing and full of interesting places. There is Yongtown, where the residents stay forever young, but with a catch. There is the four villages of Wyck, where each resident discovers their one magical ability at age 13. There is Teapot mountain, a difficult place to reach that is the home of the ones who [...]

    3. SouthWyck, book one of a four part series called The Villages Of Wyck, is a delightful teen fantasy read and is set in a magical town where Kar Homely eagerly awaits the biggest day of his life: the day when he will dip his finger into a magic urn and discover what his magical ability will be. There seem to be a number of barriers to this event for him, however, including the secret his parents have kept of his true birth origins, the efforts of bullies to thwart his dreams, and a stunning upset [...]

    4. This was an adorable and short read. I sadly got boggled down with school which is what took me so long to read not that I didn't enjoy it. I'm glad I came across this little gem on netgalley all those months ago.It was easy to understand as as a future educator I could see students liking this book. Kar was an endearing character as were his friends Jack and Haylen. To be honest, the friendship did remind me of the Golden Trio Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Haylen and Jack kept giving me a Ron and H [...]

    5. I got this book from Netgalley at a time when I was desperate for something to read with my class of 9-10 year olds. Of course I had to sit down and read this myself first, and I was glad that I did. It didn't take me long to read it, I'm an avid reader and can get through a book in a matter of hours. I really enjoyed reading this book and I look forward to sharing this with my class. I love a bit of magic in a story and this did not fail to disappoint. It brought a new twist to it, a new way th [...]

    6. This was a super fun read. I must admit I started it with thoughts of an HP comparison. The book soon gets you out of that mode. Southwyck creates a niche all its own! Super fun. Loved it!
