    1. Not for the casual music fan (such as myself) who is curious about the industry. This is for people in the trenches of the business.From a writing perspective, the first half of the book is interesting and even funny at times. The second half is a grueling death march of absolute boredom. The author himself seems a little bored as the topics become dull.

    2. You don't necessarily need to be in the music business to grasp the content, which is one of the reasons why I loved this book. It gives an idea (well, sometimes it gives more than enough to get your start in the business) of how everything works from bands/solo artists starting out, getting signed, releasing a record, to collecting revenue.
