    1. I really wanted to like this book. The writing itself is good, and the construction of the book (conflict-climax-resolution) also is really quite good despite some plot holes that I'll point out later. It's a rare Pride and Prejudice variation that features Darcy's mother among the main characters, and I found it interesting that the "Pride and Prejudice" in this story doesn't refer to Darcy and Elizabeth but instead to Lady Catherine and Darcy's mother. Elizabeth and Darcy are already in love b [...]

    2. Mr. Darcy's Brides: A Pride and Prejudice VariationEnjoyed this story very much because April gave Lady Anne de Bourgh a mind and a voice. comes up with a plan to fool her mother, Lady Catherine and her aunt, Lady Anne Darcy, that she and Darcy would be married. I expected his Aunt Catherine to be pushing the marriage, but was aggravated by his mother's same desire with not a thought about Darcy or Anne. Elizabeth and Anne become good friends while she visited the Collins' Hunsford home, and whe [...]

    3. First of all this book reads like a bad soap opera. The characters in this book are all very out of character. Mr. Darcy would never agree to such a deception as this book portrays as disguise of every sort is his abhorrence. There are several things he could have done to make Elizabeth his bride other than this plan that was concocted. They could have gone to Gretna Green or just married secretly with a special license like Anne does. I understand wanting to get Anne away from her mother but da [...]

    4. Lady Anne is alive and wants Darcy to marry his cousin Anne just as much as lady Catherine does. She knows of his feelings for Elizabeth before she even meets the girl and is determined to have Darcy wed in his social class. Anne and Darcy do not want to wed but deceive both of their mothers with a false engagement while Darcy attempts a secret courtship with Elizabeth. I don't think Darcy's character was accurately portrayed at all and Elizabeth seemed underdeveloped as well. Everyone gets thei [...]
