    1. 3.5 ✭I really wish GR would expand their rating system as this book really deserves more than a 3 but can't really reflect that without going up to a 4 and it was just too short for that. *sigh*Anyhow, I've been in a Sci-fi romance mood lately and have read some real clunkers. Ones so bad that I was embarrassed to admit I read them at all and didn't leave a rating or review because I would have been ratting myself out! Needless to say, I'm happy I can admit I finally liked one. SwtC was a swee [...]

    2. Decent sci fi romance. It was pretty short though. The story and world building were interesting. I wish that some of the sex scenes had been sacrificed to allow more story. There were four or five of them and one would have done it and left those15 or so pages for more action and plot.

    3. I discovered this series when I found Mated to the Cyborg, book two, and loved it so I kept reading and anticipating each new release. But, guess what? I forgot to go back and read book one. The author made it free and I still managed to wait forever. I'm reading it now though. Yay for getting Brock and Penelope's story finally.Stranded with the Cyborg begins with Brock Mann, a covert ops cyborg, getting assigned to the dreaded brat that he'd been forced to do protection detail aka babysit throu [...]

    4. Quick read. Good story. Surprised me a bit.Read for the URR 2018 New Year challenge, 39. Science Fiction RomanceI'm kinda liking the fact that my current TBR list is meeting most of the sub-genres for the URR challenge. So, it's not even like I have to change my reading plan for the challenge. Yay, me. Anyhoo, this was a bit of a surprise as I thought the book to be a decent read. I was expecting some meh here, but instead it was a decent story, some interplanetary action, some diplomatic action [...]

    5. *** I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review ***Penelope Isabella Aaron (PIAah, that too!) had crossed paths with Brock Mann 10 years earlier, and now regrets what she did to him. That doesn't mean she wants him as a bodyguard again, though. But when they're forced together in life-threatening circumstances, she gets to see him in a different light. Brock has suffered much in those 10 years, and initially views his latest "mission" with disdain. They'r [...]

    6. Stranded with a Cyborg included plenty of adventure for such a short read and we knew Penelope was destined to be with Brock. They did have history after all, the history being the major road block in Penelope’s mind to a future since she did not know her now hot bodyguard is a cyborg.I liked Penelope and Brock well enough and in the age of short sci-fi reads being more xxx and filter the opposites hold true for Stranded with a Cyborg. We are treated to romance, plot, XXX and a HEA. I would ha [...]

    7. I rather enjoyed this one.Okay so PIA was a little dumb at first because she thought she didn't need protection and so changed her travel plans. I'm sorry, but no ambassador in their right mind would ever do that.Other than that, I really enjoyed it, and look forward to reading the next.I liked Brock.PIA wasn't annoying. (other than her first moment of stupidity.)And the terrorism plot well considering what is going on in the world today felt rather close to home, just on the planetary scale. I [...]

    8. What I really loved about this book is the creative world building. The sci-fi aspects of this book had me at hello. While I liked the two main characters I wish there had been a bit more of a spark. A little extra umph in that department would have brought this from four star territory right into five star ranking.

    9. Kindle Unlimited. Cyborg lovers might enjoy this one more than I did.I really didn't like the heroine. She made my "too stupid to live" shelf.Recommended as filler.

    10. After recently reading the second and third installments in the Cy-Ops series I thought I'd go back and see where it all started. I'm happy to report that this series starter is just as entertaining as the others, with action-packed sequences that keep you on the edge of your seat. With a strong-willed heroine out to prove herself, and the one-time bodyguard she betrayed who's still rebuilding his life after a mission gone wrong, the sparks fly in a sensual tug-of-war as they struggle to stay al [...]

    11. I want to start off this review on a positive note, so I'm saying upfront this was an entertaining read, the writing was good and I like sci-fi romance. I tend not to delve too deeply into the science part of the sci-fi because I allow for the impossible and the suspension of my disbelief, after all I'm a mad keen Marvel fan and I love all the superhero movies and TV shows.I love the idea Brock is man and machine, a cyborg. I would love to have his enhancements and have a wireless computer in my [...]

    12. Ten years may have passed, but Brock doesn't believe Pia has changed her childish ways.Pia has devoted her life to making a name for herself without help from her mother. She wants to prove that she is more than a name, plus in some ways, make up for a disastrous decision she made when she was younger. Now thrown together, they must work together to find a way to survive after an attack on Pia's life. But all their time together brings feeling to the surface that Brock feels he can't act on. He's [...]

    13. Fantastic Sci-fi Romance!Wow, seriously what a great book! I read it straight through and loved every second of it! Brock and Pia are smoking hot together, whew! Their journey is a wild ride full of danger and suspense in a well written plot with enough detail to help you envision their world. Pia has grown up and Brock takes a chance and together the sparks combust! I can't wait for book two!

    14. Adored. I ADORE Cara Bristol's writing. Everything I read by her is fab & this book was no exception. I LOVED it. Brock was hot & Pia strong yet endearing. Cute! The story was great and original. The world was intriguing and left me wanting more. I'm really glad to find out it's a series! I can't wait to read the next one! It needs to come out now!

    15. This was a fun start to a new sci fi series. CB created an interesting world and I loved the chemistry between Pia and Brock. I read this book in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series

    16. 2.5 stars. It was a pretty standard scifi romance. That is to say basically a romance with a futuristc setting and a cyborg hero where lust and a 2 day adventure mean true love. I found it difficult to engage with the characters or their romance because I just couldn’t get past what Pia did to him as a teenager. Sure she regretted it and seemed like a different person now but that was part of the problem. Someone who could do something so heinous isn’t suddenly going to be this sweet, giving [...]

    17. 3 stars.A promising start to the series, albeit this is novella length. It will be interesting to see how the world building continues in the next books.

    18. Overall Rating: 4.25 Rockin’ ★★★★Take a young woman finding her place in the universe and a former shunned soldier turned Cyborg and what do you get? Stranded with the Cyborg! The first book in the Cy-Ops Sci-fi series, by Cara Bristol. This entertaining story is fast-paced and full of action from the beginning. The universe created by the author draws you in and continues to hold your attention to the last page. This is Brock and Penelope’s story of forgiveness and love.Penelope gre [...]

    19. I'm a fan of Cara Bristol's work, and thought I'd try this first installment of her "Cy-Ops" series. Penelope (aka Pia) Aaron, newly minted Ambassador and daughter of a former Terra United President, is excited to have been given the mission to visit Xenia to try an induce them to join the intergalactic planetary union. She's not so excited at the prospect of having a bodyguard accompany her, especially when she finds out that the bodyguard is Brock Mann. He's not happy about his assignment eith [...]

    20. SFR is my very favorite genre to read but for some reason very hard for me to find books to enjoy. When I was offered this story in exchange for a fair and honest review I was tickled. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn't too technical though there were plenty of the required cool gadgets and tech in this story. The author didn't go into detail about how things worked they just did. Which works for me because just like in the real world I don't need to know how a car works just that it does.Even t [...]

    21. My cyborg love continues to run strong. Throw in a dangerous, uninhabited planet for them to shack up on and I'm blissing out. Because two people being stranded places hits my happy button. One of them being a cyborg just makes it more delicious.Honestly, Pia's a wee bit headstrong. While I get where she was coming from as far as not wanting a bodyguard, she did take some bone-headed risks with her own safety. If not for her hunky protector, she would have ended up dead a couple of times over. O [...]

    22. Stranded with the Cyborg is the first book in the Cy Ops series by Cara Bristol. I love this series so far. There are so many interesting ways this book can go, and I cannot wait for more. I like Ms. Bristol's imagination, she has some original ideas. In this book we meet Penelope she is a strong woman who wants to be independent. She has a wicked sense of humor. She has her first major job she wants to do really well. She has earned her titles and worked her way up from the bottom.Brock has bee [...]

    23. I’ve read books 2 & 3 in this series and kept telling myself; “Sara, you have to go back and read book one.”  Finally, when I saw an ad on Facebook stating it was on Kindle Unlimited, I was all over it. I am so glad I read Stranded with the Cyborg! Two reason stand out the most; this is an AWESOME story that’s a great kickoff to this series, and I really felt like I was given more meat of the overall backstory of the Cy-Ops.  I Loved it!I loved PIA’s and Brock's story; the fact [...]

    24. I found a new series!Talk about packing in the action and angst! From start to finish, I was hooked on this story and can't wait to start Cy-Ops #2.The characters had a complicated history that made conflict a guarantee. Early on, I cared about both the H/h and wanted them to achieve their goals. The sci-fi world full of different peoples with varying political objectives sets up a series where infinite stories can be told.Bristol has a flowing, easy voice that moves the story along. I even lear [...]

    25. PIA/Penelope and Brock. Entertaining but kinda forgettable. Pia was the daughter of the president when they first met, and he was her bodyguard. She was a teen and rebellious and there was an attraction between them. He was 24 at the time and she was 17. Bad stuff happens to him and now he is part of the covert Cyborg ops team. She is now a newly minted ambassador with death threats and he is assignment is to be her body guard again. He is to go undercover as her husband. But the story doesn't h [...]

    26. What a fantastic science fiction romance!Pia was a feisty, head strong ambassador, and daughter to the previous President, all grown up, and ready to do her part to help bring peace to theplanets.Brock was sexy and strong - the perfect guy to protect Pia on her mission. And even with his new, machine-like body, he was totally human. I loved his emotional turmoil over how Pia would react to him being a cyborg. The sparks between them were perfect, and the sex was hot and romantic. This was such a f [...]

    27. I enjoyed this story. It had little different twist to it. There was romance, excitement, and secrets. Brock Mann, strong and fierce. Penelope, stubborn Pia, all grown up. She is his Proctectee, the rebellious teenager that almost ended him is now grown up, and an Ambassador. Has she really changed? Old feelings and new feelings collide. Makes a very interesting combination. I read this is one day. It was very easy to read. The story line flowed well.

    28. I was worried when the book started because Pia was an adult who acted like a bratty child. At one point she wanted to stamp her foot and tell her mother she 'wasn't the boss of her', by 25 you should have grown out of that. But when the poop hit the fan she manned up and didn't turn whiny, a big plus in my book.
