    1. Best of the three short storiesThis was another delightful quick read by Mary Lydon Simonsen. I’ve completed Behind Pemberley’s Walls, Lost in Love and now Answered Prayers. I find this to be the best of the three. These are what if stories and reviewers should realize that if one thing alters [in the P&P story] then there will be changes in the scenes that follow. It is a short story and only focusing on that one moment in time. Come on…how many time have you wanted Darcy to speak up [...]

    2. Review originally posted on Diary of an Eccentric“Darcy and Elizabeth: Answered Prayers” is one of three short stories by Mary Lydon Simonsen inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice that re-imagine Darcy and Elizabeth’s meeting at Pemberley following her rejection of his proposal at Hunsford. In this story, Darcy arrives at Pemberley after riding through a storm that has sickened his manservant. He learns there are visitors touring Pemberley and hopes they will not be stranded there [...]

    3. As many times as I have read stories, long, short, variations, sequels and prequels, my heart has such an attachment to this couple that with a few well written words an author will have me with a tightness in my throat and tears in my eyes:"It was not Mr. Darcy's stubble that caught Lizzy's attention, but his eyes. There was a look of sadness in them that she had not seen before."In this version a heavy rainstorm forces Elizabeth and the Gardiners to extend their stay beyond the usual tour of t [...]

    4. Sweet little reconciliation I would like to thank Miss Simonsen for this wonderful snippet about ODC. As with most novellas, I come to regret to shortness of them because they tend to end when the good parts start!! Shane on the authors who tease us!!! LOL This story weeds through some of the still conflicting subjects between ODC and they are able to talk and explain better without further misunderstandings in their way. Thank goodness for rain!! I would recommend novella to any JAFFer.

    5. As always, I very much enjoyed Mary Lydon Simonsen's short stories; this is the third one I've read in this series, and I only wish that all three were novel-length rather than short stories. I especially felt that this third story in the "Darcy and Elizabeth" series could have been greatly expanded; the ending seemed quite abrupt, and not just because I wanted more. I felt that expanding this story by another 10-20 pages and leaving us with a more solid resolution would have greatly improved th [...]

    6. DARCY AND ELIZABETH ANSWERED PRAYERS. A Pride and Prejudice Short Story by Mary Lydon SimonsenThis is a short encounter about Darcy and Elizabeth after their confrontation where Lizzy turned Darcy down on a marriage proposal.Elizabeth is traveling with her Aunt Gardiner and her uncle who had decided on a tour of the Pemberley Estates thinking Lizzy would enjoy a tour of the estate she had heard so much about. But she wasn’t comfortable being there because of the possibility of running into Dar [...]

    7. Darcy and Elizabeth - Answered Prayers: A Pride and Prejudice Short StoryEnjoyable story. In this story, Darcy and was already home when Elizabeth and the Gardiners visit. He's looking out his bedroom window. As he studied the younger lady, he and his valet realize that it is Elizabeth. Just as they were entering the house for the tour, it started to rain again. The butler told Darcy that the river Wye was flooding Pemberley's bridge across the river. They had to spend the night. Darcy and Eliza [...]
