    1. On-Holdbecause, like my last book, this one is also on my kindle. The one that's making some of my books disappear.Soooah. I'll continue after this problem is solved. Edit: 8-8-16 I took a long time, I know. Please just know my kindle was acting up and I have a lot of stress right now.Olivia is a girl going through high school. She's stressed about the future ( I get that) because she isn't sure what she wants to do in the future.I related to Olivia a little. Well, more than other characters. Th [...]

    2. Follow Olivia’s journey through her last year of high school and her first real romance as she struggles with hormones, her dysfunctional family, her spiritual or personal beliefs and the fear of the unknown, out in the world alone, at college. At first glance, Olivia has it all together and she does seem to be able to take on more than an average teen, but what makes her different? Is it the beatings from her father’s belt? Her uninvolved mother? The hypocrisy of her family’s strict relig [...]

    3. In this amazing story a young woman, Olivia has learned many coping skills. These skills were from having to live in a dysfunctional family life. She learned early in her life that her family was unlike other families. Then she herself made some bad choices that forced her to rethink the path she was was on. Thanks to her mentor, whom was also her boss, she was headed on a path to a bright future with God leading the way. Senior year holds many worries for most students. Sometimes their path may [...]

    4. Olivia is a senior in high school living with conservative cold parents while trying to plan a future. One day in walks the the new guys who wants to show Olivia what she's been missing. While holding true to their faith this relationship is very sweet to watch blossom. Cute story with a old fashion twist.

    5. Received by author in exchange for a honest review. So overall enjoyed. I found it entertaining and in some ways inspiring especially for teenagers as you see this group navigate through many peer pressures and how they handle it. Olivia and Cameron chose to handle the idea of sex in the relationship in a mature and honest fashion. they were open and communicated well with one another. Each was there for each other and also learned to lean on each other and confide in each other over things happe [...]

    6. I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review. I really enjoyed this novel. It's a wonderful coming of age novel set in the 90's which was fun to read seeing as I was Olivia in a sense ! I grew up in the 90's graduating high school in 1995 & I entered into a serious relationship at the end of senior year. It catapulted me back to so many memories during some of best times of my life. It was fun and refreshing to read a story set in a different era, gives the younger present day reade [...]

    7. From the outside world, it seems that Olivia is living the perfect life as she has a good job which she loves, she has good grades and a great set of friends and now the new guy at school is looking her way and interested in her. However as a Senior and this being Olivia's last year at school, she doesn't have it all together on the inside and in the home front as she has parents who argue - her dad is a control freak with a temper and he always has to be right and her mother is often in her own [...]

    8. *I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.Given the lengthy description, I wasn't sure how much of this book would surprise me. It's the strength of the characters that really kept things moving for me and made for a pleasant read. I liked Olivia, and I especially liked Mrs. K and the CCC characters. The romance was realistic, although Cameron did a few things that were a bit OTT. The fact that the book was set in the 80s was a bit of a twist for me, as I tend to read teen stories that [...]

    9. * I was provided with a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. I loved that Olivia's story took place in the 90's. There weren't cell phones or technology monopolizing everyone's time and attention. I turned 18 in 1996 so I could relate to Olivia in many different ways. She had a tough time growing up and finding her independence with a controlling father and an non-participating mother. Olivia was protective of her sister and had solid friendships. Through this first book we ge [...]

    10. It was fun to go back to being a teenager in the 90s in this YA novel. I felt transported to a simpler time, to back when I was in school. Olivia was the typical teen, finishing high school and trying to figure out her path in life, add in first love and unfair parents and I could easily relate. Cameron was a sweetheart and his and Olivia's relationship was cute and innocent, the writing realistic. I felt bad for Olivia for being dealt such a terrible hand with her parents. Though some progress [...]

    11. Olivia on the Brink took me back to my high school days when times were simple but growing up was hard. Olivia seems like she has it all together- a great job, good friends, and even a new guy at school with possibilities. But, the one thing Olivia is hiding is her relationship with her domineering, control consuming parents. I was fascinated by Olivia and her father relationship. In fact, it hit so close to home at times I could completely identify with Palmeri’s character. Palmeri has done a [...]

    12. Lovingly written coming of age story taking place in the 1990's in a small town in Texas. Tessa Palmeri zeros in the struggle and angst of that important time just before a teen is leaving for college. Everything from young love to picking the right choices color popular student Olivia's world, and she must learn to mature fast and deal with her demanding father and question what life has in store for her She has to chose to let her father map out her life, or make her decisions based on her own [...]

    13. *Actual Rating: 4.5****Also I did receive this book in exchange for an honest review***I have so many thoughts about this book. First off, the parents in this book were horrible and I couldn't stand either of them. Second, Cameron was perfect in all ways. And third I really did enjoy this book a lot. The cons? The writing was slightly different but it could have been because I've been reading fantasy. It wasn't exactly immature but it definitely was above my grade level. Over all, I really recom [...]

    14. I was given this book in return for a honest review by the author. Thank you, Tessa!I was warned at first that there is a bit of a religion theme running through this book. So true. To be honest, it's not my style of book. But, I'm a very fair reader. I always try all kinds of books because sometimes the religion issue is so minor that it doesn't change anything. And I honestly thought that this book had a great story, regardless of the religion issue. I did keep finding myself going "BUT" becau [...]

    15. ***I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review*** When the author approached me about an opportunity to read her book I was so enthusiastic to receive such an opportunity! This book definitely got placed on my to-read list right after the other books I had to review! My first thoughts:I have to say that my first thoughts about this book were rather poor. The first couple chapters of the book did not draw me in as I was hoping it would so I began to get nervous. [...]

    16. This is a beautiful coming of age story about self discovery. Olivia is a sweet, very innocent eighteen-year-old girl who has lived quite a sheltered life. Her parents are very conservative, judgmental, and controlling. Her father in particular, is verbally and sometimes even physically abusive. They try to keep her locked in a very tight bubble, being overly strict, and often harshly critical. Her mother has basically checked out. She makes no effort to protect her daughters from her husband. N [...]

    17. (I was given an ARC copy of the book in exchange for an honest review)Actual Rating 4.5*I knew going into this book that it was a coming of age novel, and that is exactly what it was. It was really wonderfully written. The main character Olivia had to deal with family issues, a raging angry father, a mother who didn't care most of the time, friend drama, boyfriend insecurities, as well as indecisiveness about school and fear for her future. It was a great story about finding strength in places w [...]

    18. *I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest reviewOlivia, on the Brink is an entertaining coming-of-age novel about a high school senior juggling the ups and downs of family, a new relationship, and major life decisions. I felt like I could relate to so much of what Olivia was going through—it was almost like I was reading my own life story from several years ago! The struggles she faces—of establishing her independence as an adult, experiencing the simultaneous excitement [...]

    19. When Tessa Palmeri asked me to read her book, I was a little hesitant at first, but once I read the synopsis, I thought why not? It looked like something I could totally get into. So I went in with little expectation if I was completely honest, but I what read was enthralling. I was completely hooked on Olivia's story. You are probably thinking why would some 30 year old but reading a YA novel? Short answerI love a good story. Add some romance and a little teenage dramaI become totally hooked.Al [...]

    20. First of all I have to say that events of this book take place in 90s. It's unusual and entertaining to hear about such things as VHS tapes, audiocassette tapes, corded phones, etc.I had nostalgic feelings when I was reading about a boy who asked girl's phone number and she gave him her home phone number. I remember that time when we hadn't got cellphones and a guy could call only to your home number. It was a very good moment when Olivia mentioned an old TV-series Beverly Hi [...]

    21. I was asked to do an honest review of the book and well I hope you like it.We all have family problems; but what hit me with this book was the way Olivia heard her father's voice every time she tried something new, or different, the way she couldn't be herself and what's even worse, how she had so little self-speciations. Olivia was a super girl, and it was frustrating for me to see how she didn't know it, and how she limited herself in some ways.I loved how she and Cameron fell in love, it was [...]

    22. I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review. This book was ok, unfortunately I did not get into as much as I would have liked, it took me a bit longer to read then normal as it just didn't hold my interest that much. Olivia is a typical teenage girl dealing with a lot. She has a controlling, angry father that has conservative rules. She is also finding her way in life deciding what she should take in college. Olivia meets Cameron, the new boy at school and he helps brin [...]

    23. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Honestly, this book took me triple the time it normally does. I had a hard time getting into it and some parts read quicker for me than others. Now, that says nothing about the writing or storyline! I think Tessa did a wonderful job at telling us Olivia's story. That being said, this would be a great read for any high school girl! I am 29 years old and I grew up in the 90's and graduated in 2005. I wish I could have read this in h [...]

    24. Love it! What a fantastic read! I love the characters and Olivia reminds me of me! I lived through the same time frame as her. No cell phones, just good face to face communication. This book was well-written and had very good character development. The story wasn't rushed, flowed very well. It is a clean, romantic book. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to read a great book.I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. I am so thankful that I was given this opportunity! [...]

    25. Note : I was given this book for an honest review. First of all the cover was absolutely beautiful, that is what usually draws me into buying a book, so great job there. The book was a well-written coming of age story about a young girl named Olivia . I really enjoyed the flashbacks to the 80's that was a really fun ride. It is hard to imagine life before cell phones. Mainly this book brought me back to High School with boyfriends and prom dresses. Oh to be 16 again. The only negative I would sa [...]

    26. I really liked this young adult book. The story is about Olivia. She is a sweet, innocent and kind girl who unfortunately, has dreadful parents. Her Dad is angry, judgmental and controlling. Her Mother seems lazy, beaten down and uncaring. Luckily for her, she meets Cameron who is perfect for her in every way. Their relationship is great. My only problem with the book was that it got kind of churchy right at the end. I wasn't a fan of that part, but I thought the rest of the book was great.I woul [...]

    27. I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review:This book made me feel nostalgic, when it came to music and certain little things about the 90's.I thought the book was a good old fashioned love story for young adults that is rated PG, that dabbed into what most young adults experience at that age, which made the story believable. The two characters were two wholesome 18 years old with a strong Christian backgrounds and good morals and stood their grounds when it came to sex.One thing I [...]

    28. *I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.Actually 4.5 starsThis was a sweet story with some old fashioned ideals that I found to be completely endearing. Olivia is a sweet and innocent girl who has to deal with a lot of discord at home. Cameron is her knight in shining armor and I really loved how he always put her first, something she was missing at home. The Christian undertones evident thoughout the story got a little heavy towards the end but I found I didn't really mind it becaus [...]

    29. Good book, you get really attached to the characters, which is always a good sign to me while reading I kept wanting to read on and see where things were headed. I love the timeline and the fact that the book takes place when there was not the interruption of cell phones and social media, it was easier for me to relate to a young relationship taking place in the 90s, it helped me feel connected to the characters. I also really like how the author uses the family dynamics to demonstrate how it pl [...]

    30. I was offered this book by the author for an honest review. This was a quick read. I thought it would just be a simple teen romance novel but it actually made me think about my parenting skills and what I'm trying to teach my kids. I'm a pretty conservative Christian so I appreciated the faith that was brought out in this book. I did struggle with so much teen drinking. While I know that's a reality, I didn't like seeing it so common place. I do look forward to reading the next book in this seri [...]
