    1. Tiene momentos realmente brillantes, but it drags on for way longer than feels right. Los primeros y los últimos capítulos, alguno aislado en el centro (Chapter 18 is amazing in the context of the book) resaltan el genio del estilo narrativo. But it does drag on. Would completely recommend, con esa advertencia.

    2. This is a classic example of an unreliable narrator but the narrative voice was not that of an 8 year old girl. The diction, syntax and figurative language do not ring true and were far from age-appropriate. This glaring fault detracted from an otherwise incredibly imaginative journey. There were brief moments when the author seemed to recognize this discrepancy and tried to explain the young narrator's confusion about the meaning of certain words but then quickly returned to the unreal Uber-int [...]

    4. I couldn't finish this - a very rare occurrence. I had no idea what was going on amidst all of the fantastical imagery, amidst all the words. There didn't seem to actually be a story under all that - or if there was, I couldn't follow it.

    6. "The world has seen many narratives of absent fathers, but this narrator’s dedication to her father is as charming and lyrical as it is tragic and human. By blending persona and myth, this hyperreal work of fiction potently expresses the pain of an abandoned child." - Marylise FigueroaThis book was reviewed in the November/December 2016 issue of World Literature Today magazine. 7.

    11. Drawing on her own memories of a childhood split between Santo Domingo and visits with her father amid the luxuries of the United States, Papi is the story of an eight-year-old girl and the relationship with her father. Papi is a short yet fast-paced read. The way it’s written, with many long, run-on sentences, followed by lots of short sentences with repetition makes you read it faster and faster. It’s interesting that this manic style of story-telling is mostly present when the girls fathe [...]

Senza infamia e senza lode. PapiRita Indiana Traduzione: Vittoria Martinetto Editore: NNeditorePag: 173Voto: 3/5

    13. I really wanted to like this, I love her music. Maybe something was lost in the translatione word "cuz" was in every sentence. I really enjoyed the first and last chapter, but the rest was just rambling for me.

    14. Excelente narrativa.

    17. Interesting writing style. Overall decent and interesting book but it drags on despite being relatively short in length.

¡Totalmente recomendable!
