    1. It's about time!Note: Though I have also reviewed this title on , this work deserves the highest praise and so is not cross-posted.We live in an age where referring to such a book as this as adult or romance leaves readers to imagine how many items of clothing were removed. When asked to give a review to an adult romance, I was ready to reject this work outright as tasteless filth, and yet, had I done so, I may well have made a grave mistake. Michele's work is dignified, elegant, honorable. It i [...]

    2. Sophia of Suffolk is a beautifully written story, set upon the dawn of the expanded Regency era in 1795 Georgian London. Before I go on, let it be known that this book is a recreation of a series published in the late 18th century as Cecilia, subtitled Memoirs of an Heiress. It follows the trials and tribulations of 21-year-old Sophia, who must negotiate London society for the first time after the death of her uncle. She is entrusted into the care of three guardians, who were chosen by her uncle [...]

    3. Sophia of Suffolk is written in the style of a Jane Austen classic. Taking place in the late 1700's, the story is about the lives of women whose only hope in life was to be married well. In this case, Sophia is on the verge of an inheritance after the death of her uncle. Unlike others of her class, she despises the frivolity of their lifestyle and wishes only to help the poor. She is generous and kind to the point of being naive, and this is the start of what could be her downfall. Where she is [...]

    4. This novel took me quite a long time to finish because I initially found the language irritating. I have never had reason to read Regency literature, and I've never been enamored of Jane Austen. I found the plot infuriatingly tedious. There are so many misunderstandings that occur simply because people do not speak in a direct manner. Multiple men disregard Sophia's candor, and I really wanted to slap them all silly. The men think she cannot possibly know her own mind, and Sophia all too easily [...]

    5. I have always enjoyed classic British literature and Sophia of Suffolk is written in a way which reminds me of such novels, something which it not easy to accomplish and which I love. I won’t go into too much detail since I don’t want to ruin the story for those who read it in the future but it tells of Sophia, a beautiful young woman who after being orphaned is raised by her uncle and must deal with London Society after his death, when put into the care of three guardians. Sophia of Suffolk [...]

    6. This book was an emotional rollercoaster (in a great way). I was conflicted on my feelings for the heroine because she is really someone you like, but she gets sucked into some of the crappiest situations you want to pull her aside and ask, "What the heck are you doing?!?!"I thought I was buying a cute little Regency romance but this turned out to be a dramatic epic, and I have been sucked in. I will absolutely be reading book two. Five stars, without question. Exceptional.
