    1. A fun treasure hunting adventure on a new planetThis was a fast paced, and sweet adventure packed romance. While I found the plot and characters to be quite predictable, this book still made for a nice, pleasant, and easy read. No unnecessary angst or drama. It had an Indiana Jones feel to it. Enjoyable throughout. Worth its .99 price tag.

    2. I kept wanting to like this book more than I did.Dr. Lexa Carter's on the trail of an ancient Earth relic, a Faberge egg, and she's determined to prove her astro-archeologist credentials to her disapproving father -- heye's hitting two birds with one stone! However, she's been forced to accept the protection of a bodyguard, Damon Malik, who's not at all happy with his assignment either. He'd been enjoying the quiet and peaceful museum security gig, not expecting to have to play sidekick to a stu [...]

    3. I do love a good sexy sci-fi. Aliens, alien worlds, and bad, bad things happening to people in the far reaches of space just do it for me. The sex isn't too shabby either. But let's not talk about how much I adore a good romp through alien worlds. Let's talk about Lexa and Damon.Lexa and Damon. They definitely have some sparks when they're first on page. Sparks of the "I loathe you and your high-handed ways" type. It's awesome. Because the loathing sparks are all just a front for the "let's get n [...]

    4. Really decent short story. There is a lot of action and a little romance. Treasure hunting, bad guys, good guys, sand storms, strange animals and more.I do believe that this can be a stand alone. But it is part of a series.

    5. I love this series! It's like Indiana Jones in future!I loved going backward in time and discovering how everything strated! :)

    6. Originally published at Reading RealityIn At Star's End, the first novel in the Phoenix Adventures series, intergalactic treasure hunter Dathan Phoenix finds himself assisting astro-archaeologist Dr. Eos Rai in her hunt for a long-lost Terran treasure. And falling head over heels in love with the determined and beautiful scientist. Now we know that this was fated, not by any biological fated-mate trope, but because when Dathan first struck out on his own as a treasure hunter, he assisted Damon Ma [...]

    7. I was pleasantly surprised with this one. The beginning was a bit slow and I almost quit but I kept on and the book took on a good vibe. There was plenty of action, sexual and adventure, with strong characters and a surprise ending that I didn’t see coming. There was a little cheesy stuff toward the end but not enough to detract. Not a bad read.

    8. Lexa Carter studied to become an astro-archaeologist against the wishes of her businessman father. She’s now a museum curator who believes she has found an ancient artifact, a Faberge egg, and is determined to retrieve it. For her safety, the museum’s newish head of security, Damon Malik, is sent with her. Through sandstorms, attack animals, and hijinks in ruins, they get to know each other better and find out that they don’t dislike each other after all. Anna Hackett fans will know what t [...]

    9. This was an extremely intriguing and fascinating story about ancient history, hidden treasures, myths, danger and love, which I enjoyed reading very much. Lexa, a curator of the Darend Museum, finds an ancient vase in the archives, which gives her clues to the location of a famed Fabergé egg on Zerzura, the legendary planet full of danger, mystery and history. This egg is not just a symbol of new life, but of hope and growth. Together with Damon, the museum’s new head of security, and Dathan [...]

    10. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is my first time reading anything from the Phoenix Adventures series, and I'm already hooked. Lexa is such an awesome character, it's so easy to like her and cheer for her to find the treasure. I liked the pace of the relationship between her and Damon, how it goes from animosity and reluctant acceptance that they must work together, to discovering the many layers they each have and realizing the other is not that bad afte [...]

    11. A museum curator and a security guard story doesn't sound too exciting at first. But toss in the backdrop of sci-fi/futuristic world, a treasure hunt and smoking smexytimes and you get something really interesting, and did I mention the smexytimes are hot? I most def will be checking out the remaining books in this series.

    12. A Fun Treasure Hunt!Filled with adventure, romance, and even a mystery, this book was exciting and full of alien history! I am definitely looking forward to more by this author!

    13. What a thrilling ride. Adventure, excitement, and romance abound in the first of Anna Hackett's Phoenix Adventures. The hero is hot and so is the sex between Damon and Lexa. Wow. If you like edge-of-your-seat adventure on an alien planet, with a satisfying ending (of course), this book is for you.

    14. Anna Hackett Delivers AgainI've just started this series because I was too caught up in Hackett's other series. Now I wonder why I waited so long! Fantastic start to another series and I can't wait to read them all!! #TeamHacketteers

    15. Loved, loved, loved! Lexa was great and just charged forward, regardless of the obstacle. I really enjoyed the mix of past and future. Although now I have to look up Zerzura. I didn't get that reference at all. LOL.Great read and highly recommend.

    16. Nice, quick, entertaining read. I thought the set-up for the world was pretty interesting. I enjoyed the characters and the story. The tech and alien world were different without being overly so.

    17. Great readLoved all the problems and mishaps that the adventurers ran into. Book definitely keeps your interest between the search for the temple and the romance.

    18. GreatWhat a great read of treasure hunting and romance I could not pit it down thanks keep them coming ann

    19. Awesome futuristic worldSecurity specialist and archaeologist who are constantly at each other throat find love while on a treasure hunt reminisce of Indiana Jones.

    20. Love Anna Hacketts books inc most of this series. Can't wait for No. 11 to be released. If you love futuristic space adventure romance, I would recommend her books.

    21. This was a quick read for me. I was so engrossed in both the characters and the story line, that it just flew by. This space western was just plain fun. The chemistry and heat added to the story.

    22. Prolific Writer Means Big Fun!!This is the first Anna Hackett book that I've read, but this Phoenix Adventures debut is encouraging. I'll enjoy more of these adventures.

    23. I really liked this book. Had never read Anna Hackett and was impressed. This is about Dr. Lexa Carter who is an astro archeologist and Damon Malik who is her body guard. Lexa goes on a treasure hunt for the museum she works at and they enlist Damon Malik to be her body guard. They are looking for a priceless Faberge Egg. The trouble that they run into was quite intense at times and kept my attention up for the whole book. Great plot and subplots, etc. Would recommend.

    24. Blown away. I think that is probably the best way to describe how I felt after reading this book (and during, if I'm being completely honest). Had I not already read On a Barbarian World (book 8) and Lost in Barbarian Space (book 9) and fallen completely in love with this series, this book would've definitely cinched the deal for me. This book was set on the planet of Zerzura, a planet on which the Terrans crash landed after the destruction of Earth. Once similar to Earth, the planet now consist [...]

    26. Among Galactic RuinsAnna HackettReviewed by SFF DragonLike Indiana Jones meets Star Wars. A treasure hunt with a steamy romance and HEA for good measure. I loved it.'Among Galactic Ruins' is a prequel novel in the Phoenix Adventures series by Anna Hackett and I was given this copy by the author in exchange for an honest review. This book hooked me on the first page and I got so absorbed by the story I couldn't put it down. I absolutely loved it and it made me laugh. This is one of those books I [...]

    27. Among Galactic Ruins is a novella that blends romance, science fiction and action. Think Star Wars meets Indiana Jones: the main characters search for a lost temple on a desert planet in the hopes of finding treasure. It is fast-paced fluffy fun.Dr. Lexa Carter defied her wealthy family to become an astro-archeologist. They conspired to keep her out of trouble by pushing her into curatorship. That suited Lexa until she discovered a map that could lead her to lost treasure. One of the things I lo [...]

    28. An enjoyable read.Alexa is an astro-archeologist on a expedition to find artifacts of old Earth. Damon is former military, super secret kind, who is head of security for her museum and her dig. And together they trek through the desert and find a little romance together.
