    1. Great world building!I didn't know what to make of this prompt. I just put a bunch of question marks and highlighted on the wondrous spreadsheet Sunnykins designed and shared. The author did a great job expounding upon the prompt. The tattoos impart gifts to Malachi. Malachi is a member of the Lost Boys which is a term for survivors of a the first group of Heartless. Heartless battle the underworld who have become more prominent amongst the living after the apocalypse, living inside others as par [...]

    2. This story was written for my prompt as part of the 2015 DRitC event! I had a really strong idea of how the story would go, and Nicole turned it on its head. I really like the world she came up with, and the paradox of having extreme heat and desert type environments as a foil to creatures who operate in the dark. She incorporated one of my favourite details from the photo I chose. Luc and Malachai's story doesn't end when the story itself does -- there are all sorts of questions left hanging, i [...]

    3. 3.4 StarsArgh, so much potentialis is the kind of story that is meant to be longer, more detailed. I wish the author would revisit the tale and expand on the 'verse she's created here because I desperately wanted more of everything that was only touched on or given a cursory explanation.

    4. Great world building but many questions left unanswered. Ended abruptly with not much having been settled or achieved. I thought it felt like a short introduction teaser to a series. Liked the idea of tattoos coming to life.

    5. What a strange book. It started abruptly and ended likewise. Too many monologues and the tattoos that come to life were stolen from Elektra (movie)

    6. 2.5 starsA different take on post apocalyptic time where demons and their minions roaming the earth, trying to occupy the world by inhabiting the vilest and most corrupting human (there's nothing funny whatsoever on these minions). The heroes came in the form of the Heartless, Lost Boys who lived in the shadows. This was more like an HFN with the hopeful yet long way to go for our leading characters, romantically speaking and else. Interesting plot; magic with tattooed familiars and weaponries, s [...]

    7. The positive thing about this story is how original it is and the story line/plot was pretty good. The side characters were goofy and lovable and this could have been a pretty entertaining full-length novel. However, I had to give it such a low rating because I just couldn't get into the writing style. It was kind of choppy and even some of the conversations were written very awkwardly. If it was written better, and I could have gotten more into the main characters and this new world, I could hav [...]

    8. Offered for FREE from the M/M Romance Group's Love Is An Open Road event. Thank you too all the amazing authors who participated!

    9. 3.5 - I really liked this story, the characters and the world building. A great start to a series??? Nice interpretation of the photo and the story letter. Thank you Nicole Dennis for donating your story, your time and your talent.

    10. I loved this. The world building was fantastic. This would make a great full length novel and even a series. I would like to have seen a better ending, it was a little abrupt.

    11. Did not finish. I couldn't get into the story but I did not try very hard because there are plenty of stories I do like.

    12. Original World, Interesting Characters and Lots of Action.I hope Nicole writes more stories based in this world. I want magic tattoos too >_<

    13. Interesting world building. I think the love story would have needed a bit more time to expand. I'd like to get to know them better
