    2. This was a thought-provoking book about a topic I am sure many of us have struggled with: in the economically and socially liberated West, what happens to the human psyche when it has 'too much control'? Are we ultimately happier without constraints, or are we healthier when we inhabit a society with a consensus of limits?Beyond that powerful kernel of an idea, though, this book fell frustratingly short of the expectations set by the well-written and imaginative introduction. The text suffered f [...]

    5. "When there are so many options to choose from, when choice becomes so overbearing, and when the responsibility for making the wrong choice appears so anxiety-provoking, foundering in indecisiveness seems to offer protection from the possible regret and disappointment that choice might provoke." This sentence both sums up the central tenet of this book and highlights the clumsy and awkward drafting and editing. The title of the book suggests an insight to an important topic.Unfortunately the book [...]

    6. So glad I stumbled onto this mini-book about our freedoms to make real choices. Part sociology, psychology and philosophy, it really made me think about our daily decisions. Read it!
