    1. This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I randomly found the book when I was wandering the profiles of various friends looking at their favorited authors (actually, I’ve said that before in a thread, but I just realized that I might have found the author by looking at random people’s favorited authors, as long as they had also favorited Lea Santos). The book description on GoodReads gives a good little synopsis. Woman, Jordan Stryker, gets diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Leaves [...]

    2. PJ Trebelhorn has quickly become one of my go-to romance author authors. I love all of her books. I hesitated over this one, because I'm not a huge fan of poker and I have a stack of books waiting to be read. But when I read her blog about her connection with one character's battle with MS (bit/1wkPvLm), I had to read it. I wasn't disappointed. As usual, her characters, story line and tension well-developed. PJ big reveal in her blog makes it all the more poignant. I would recommend reading the [...]

    3. Solid book. I think Trusting Tomorrow is still my favourite by this author. The main characters are great, their romance is very sweet. I could have happily drop-kicked one of the side characters, but she didn't detract too much from the story.

    4. This is an advance copy I got from netgalley for an honest review.Jordan is very strong and very stubborn. I can understand not wanting to put someone through the burden of taking care of her for the rest of their lives but she went a little overboard. Ashley has always loved Jordon and it's not just Jordan's decision to make. In the end they figured it out but it was exhausting. The fact that his took place in Vegas was interesting. Jordan is a decent poker player and I loved that she took the [...]

    5. Another wonderful book by Ms Trebelhorn. I have enjoyed all of her work and this was no exception. Both Jordan and Ashley characters were women you wanted to see happy and loved, I rooted for them all the way.

    6. Nicely developed story. Like that the characters are a little older (40's)! Really felt the emotions of not wanting to burden someone with the unknown of having MS.

    7. I have read other works by PJ Trebelhorn before. From This Moment On is a favorite of mine. So I figured I would read Up the Ante at some point in the future. But with my To-Read stack so big (I think it’s somewhere around 25 books), I was going to wait a little bit before checking it out. Then I saw this blog post by Trebelhorn herself on the Bold Stroke Books Author’s Blog. As a result, Up the Ante shot up to the top of my To-Read list. The story is about a former FBI agent, Jordan Stryker, [...]

    8. Two damaged characters who had a previous relationship meet up again and try not to rekindle their romance. Or at least one character tries not to… Jordan has multiple sclerosis and had to leave the FBI job she loved, as she could no longer do the job the way she wanted – properly. She has learned how to play poker, as a means to earn a living and goes to a tournament in Las Vegas were she meets Ashley. Previously a cop in LA, Ashley is now Head of Security in the hotel holding the poker tou [...]
