    1. I like the illustrations. I don't like that there's absolutely no plot, except the blank frames at the end. This could be a coloring book, or an inexpensive Golden book, and children could draw in those frames. Or it could be a board book, so tiny hands could turn the pages themselves. As a picture-book, it isn't that interesting.

    2. A nice choice for a lap-read or in toddler storytime. You can do opposites. Have the child(ren) point out which are the big and which are the little. Some occasional counting as well. And can always work on animal noises at the same time. With the young preschool crowd, I may throw this in as well. Can't always just be about humor. :-) Will skip the last page though--not sure why it "started over."3/18/15 Used in opposites theme. Went very well. Had them telling me what colors the creatures were [...]

    3. A book about big and little. I love the art work in this book, which I would describe as very different from the art work in the traditional children's book. and I think it is great for children to get to experience many different types of art work.

    4. This book is so simple that you wouldn't think children would respond to it in a library story time -- but they do! This was a perfect fit for our story time on "big and little" opposites. Feel free to chat with the children while going thru the story. "What color is the", "how many". Let your facial expressions be animated -- it's half the fun.

    5. Harper seemed to like the pictures of the elephants most and made her elephant noise and raised her arm like an elephant trunk when the book showed or talked about elephants. She also liked the pictures of fish and made her fish noise and faces. The dogs and pigs were amusing to her too. She liked the illustrations.

    6. Yikes. The illustrations in Bumble Bugs and Elephants are weird, creepy, and sometimes a bit unrecognizable. The concept of the book itself is great and, being that elephants are my kid's fave, it was nice that the elephant was the grand finale. I just can't get over the disturbing nature of the slipshod illustrations (especially the turtles, omg).

    7. A fun concept book that compares big animals to smaller animals. At the end, Wise-Brown asks readers to come up with something big and small.Illustrations are unique and highlight the size differences of the animals.

    8. If the last two pages are not used, there are no animal pictures used, it is a great book to use in story time. It goes from very small animals to a big animal and stil compares the bigger and the smaller animal in the same animal.Great big and tiny little animals interact side by side.

    9. A book of opposites that circles back on itself. I like the old-fashioned illustrations. I have to think on how to effectively use it for a storytime, however.

    10. Great book for toddlers. Lots of white space and one sentence per page. It uses a few bright colors with good use of red. Also, wonderful lesson of big and little. Open ended questions at the end.
