    1. A nice addition to a swimming-themed storytime, especially as an opportunity to add some nonfiction. Unfortunately, it just didn't seem to grab the crowd's attention.

    2. Jenkin's bold paper cut illustrations and Riley's one line of text which rhymes with the next page's one line of text makes for a wonderful introduction to the wild animal world for children as young as two. There will be lots of new vocabulary words such as "platpus" and "rudder", "armadillo", "jaguar" and "scoop", and so forth which the reader can stop and talk about with the little one or just keep reading, knowing that the child is absorbing words and sounds and associations and will eventua [...]

    3. Elephants swim by holding their trunks up high. Hippos sink to the bottom to sleep. This book explores how different animal interact in the water and their differences and similarities. Best Line-Platypuses use their tails like rudders.Lesson Ideas- differences and similarities in animals

    4. I liked this book. It was informative and it had a rhyme in it which made it fun to read. I chose this book, because I think elephants are interesting and was hoping to learn more about them but was glad to learn about all different animals, not just elephants.

    5. Wonderful collage illustrations and simple sentences invite the youngest of readers to see how different animals behave in the water. Additional information can be found at the back of the book.

    6. Fantastic artwork by my favorite illustrator-Steve Jenkins. This is a great way to introduce sophisticated and rare vocabulary to our toddlers and preschoolers.

    7. This book is so cute!! This is a Steve Jenkins illustrated book that would be suitable for younger ages, most of his books seem to be oriented towards older kids. I'd love to buy this one sometime.

    8. The paper collage illustrations are life -like and full of natural color. The book shows how a wide variety of animals behave in water, in rhyme. This includes how they move, eat or sleep in water.

    9. Typical Steve Jenkins paper artwork, but he is so talented with this format. This book shows how different animals move through the water.

    10. I give it a 3.5. It's a cute, simple book that exposes young children to animals that don't typically get a lot of exposure - wildebeests, platypuses, caribou, etc.
