    1. My nine-year-old son stayed home from school Friday and the TV didn't go on once. This is newsworthy. Why? Because he wanted to READ THIS BOOK. "It's animals, and a mystery, so I love it." He let me read some chapters with him, and I agree. Suspenseful, informative and charming.

    2. Poached is a fun, entertaining, barrel of laughs! I could not stop reading this book. I had a really good laugh during the koala death scene. Don't worry it is really not that bad and no "real" koalas were hurt during this part. Teddy is not that great of a spy/detective but this is what makes this book so much fun to read. It is because of all of the trouble that he finds himself in that makes things interesting. Any kid who reads this book is going to want to live at an amusement park. In fact [...]

    3. Another very entertaining book from Stuart Gibbs! This the sequel to Belly Up. Both books chronicle the adventures of Teddy Fitzroy at FunJungle, the world's largest zoo. These 2 books will be enjoyed by all ages, even though they are classified as YA. I am an old fart(67)and I love Stuart Gibbs books!

    4. I loved this book so much I would recommend this book who likes humor, mystery, and realistic fiction. Very well written I could not put the book down. Stuart Gibbs has written others book and I want to read them too.

    5. Poached by Stuart Gibbs stuartgibbs/books/ I read Poached before I read the prequel. Whoops. That’s ok. I thought this book had an amazing opening that led you from one chapter to the next with such great pacing, something I’ve missed for some reason lately… I thought that there couldn’t be a bully as bad as Vance but as I read further into the book I accepted the character where he was at without any further need for background information about him. As for the main character, Teddy, I [...]

    6. This book is really interesting and funny! It is about a boy named Teddy Fitzroy. When he gets forced into playing a cruel prank on FunJungle, where his parents work, his entire life gets flipped inside out. Vance, the school bully, forces Teddy to drop fake limbs into the shark tank and now is running from security. When he thinks of a place he could lose the security he bolts into Kristi ,a former koala keepers, office. He sneaks into the koalas exhibit and waits till Marge, a security guard, [...]

    7. I loved Belly Up and all of Teddy Fitzroy's mysteries! This one with a koala missing is not quite as hard to solve as the first book, so it wasn't as good. Teddy goes around the FunJungle to find out the kidnapper of Kazoo the Koala. Ever since Teddy's shark prank, he has all the blame as the kidnapper, even though he isn't. At the end, he finally figures out who kidnapped Kazoo and everything goes back to normal- Summer even comes back and decides to come to a local school with him. I recommend [...]

    8. What a fantastic sequel to "Belly Up." My children, 10 and 12, listened to this on CD with me. The humor and suspense kept all of us wanting to return to the story over and over again. Teddy Fitzroy is a relate-able character for my kids. He has so much integrity, following in his parents' footsteps, yet he gets picked on and not believed in over and over again. The message of the story is about believing in yourself and having the courage of your convictions - and is all done in a way that is n [...]

    9. Teddy Fitzroy is accused of stealing FunJungle's biggest attraction: a koala on loan from Australia. He does live at the animal park, and his parents work there. He has gotten in trouble there before. But, he didn't do it. Why does all the evidence point to him? An action-packed mystery, with lots of interesting side facts on animal behavior, as well as a bully situation at school that seems insurmountable. Teddy has a lot of grit. I hope we get to see him in more adventures!

    10. A stellar sequel to the equally fun and well written "Belly Up". Gibbs has an innate ability to write very fun, almost slapstick-esque mysteries for the middle grade set. He creates very wacky, but memorable, characters caught in the middle of a crazy, madcap plot. For me, Gibbs brings to mind shades of Carl Hiaasen, the unequivocal master of loony, slightly manic mysteries with an enviromental edge.Great reading for those in grades 3 - 8 who like mystery books and stories about animals.

    11. I read this book in one day, almost in one sitting. It was a compulsively readable, madcap mystery from start to finish! My students will love this for the humor, zoo setting and nonstop action - I loved it for the same reasons. Great fun!

    12. Fun and kid-friendly, everyone will love this series and the characters. I couldn't stop laughing!

    13. While I really enjoyed reading about Teddy's second adventure, there were a couple of things that bugged me. The way Vance, the bully from school, seems to control everyone at school, including the principal really rubbed me the wrong way. I mean, where were all the adults when Vance and his friends were getting ready to stuff Teddy's head in the toilet of a filthy bathroom. Maybe it's because I work in a school and I know how hard the staff works to keep the school running well but it seems so [...]

    14. This was a real intensely orchestrated novel. Every single page I was on the edge of my seat wanting to read more. One night, I even read 3 hours straight without even knowing it. This book also had some vocabulary that was difficult to understand so I needed to do further research to figure out what it meant. This is probably under my top 5 best mystery novels list. I love the setting, a 14 year old boy living in a trailer park in the most abandoned part of Texas in this really hip, humongous z [...]

    15. This is the second book in the Fun Jungle series and I enjoyed it as much as the first. I like the information I learn about the animals mentioned in the story, as well as what a very different life from mine would be like. I like that the main character Teddy is adventurous, but he tries to be responsible in some ways. You know that a situation like this wouldn't really exist but it's close enough to keep it fun and believable. I also really like the relationship he has with his parents. The so [...]

    16. Any other mystery book would not give you as much tension as Poached by Stuart Gibbs did. It's about a missing koala and a kid that's being blamed for it. The kid being blamed, Teddy, has to find out who took the koala and where he is. If Teddy doesn't find the criminal, he can go to juvenile court! This book is a great mystery book that really puts you on the edge of your seat. I would recommend this book to kids in grades 5-7. Great book!

    17. This is great middle-grade fiction! The characters were down-to-earth and likable, and the mystery was just plausible and engaging enough to keep my attention. Plus lots of koala facts thrown in this caper.I need to check out some other Stuart Gibbs titles!Summary: Twelve-year-old Teddy Fitzroy is the prime suspect when FunJungle's newly-acquired koala goes missing, thanks to a prank staged by middle school bully Vance Jessup.

    18. Enjoyable overall. We listened to the CD in the car. Summer McCracken's decision to leave her school so she could hang with Teddy rubbed me wrong, as did Mr Fitzroy's advice to his son, that when the head cheerleader gives you her number you call. Really? Both these sexist little bits came at the very end and kind of left me with a bad taste. But enjoyable story overall for both me and the kiddo.

    19. I enjoyed reading this book, it was full of suspense and ups and downs. I would recommend this book to people who have read the other books in the fun jungle series. Poached by:Stuart Gibbs is about a boy named Teddy Fitzroy and how he makes one little mistake that puts him in big trouble. The book is called poached because of a koala named kazoo that was recently stolen, as teddy looks for answers the park looks to catch him.

    20. Pretty good book for 5/6th graders. It teaches about endangered animals and habitat loss without being preachy. It also has lots of action and an interesting protagonist. At first I was frustrated with the improbability of the plot, but after I let myself go with the story, I enjoyed it and I think most 5th graders would also.

    21. Another great adventure in Fun Jungle. It was a good and easy read. Still love the characters, the mystery and learning about animals as I go. Even had a few laughs a long the way. Teddy is so likeable even though he always seems to get into trouble. The difference between this book and the first one that is a definite plus: zero swear words and no mention of marijuana. Yay!

    22. This was a very interesting book about fun jungle which is a sort of like a theme park/ zoo. In this book a koala was stolen and Teddy has to find the real culprit before the real culprit gets away.

    23. Another amazing book by Stuart Gibbs(This review is by my daughter Genevieve)This book is outstandingly captivating. It sucks you in like a black hole, and you can't stop reading until you've finished the book.

    24. Loved this book! 2nd in Funjungle series by Stuart Gibbs. Enjoyed 1st Belly Up but we liked book 2 even more!Stuart Gibbs is a terrific author, love his middle grade novels.Check out his series, my daughter and I are really haveing fun reading this together

    25. Excellent writing, although does contain quite a bit of bullying, so sensitive readers may be disturbed. Animal facts and mystery solving combine for a great read!
