    1. 3.5 starsAfter reading Brown-eyed Devil by this author, I was looking forward to reading more books by him. This book is a fast-paced romance between a law professor and a younger man. I liked that the novella featured an interracial couple. I didn't mind the age gap because Aaron struggled with it and didn't believe that Rafael would want to be with someone who could be his father when he has so much more to experience. He tried to push him away but Rafael was persistent. Rafael was very sweet. [...]

    2. I had to think about this story after finishing. At the beginning the writing style was difficult for me to get into the story. The dialogues felt a bit off, don't know why. I got used to it and the story flowed along quite nicely, until there was this one scene, that totally came out of the blue and left me rather flabbergasted. Nothing before and after got me to expect that development, for me it was out of character of both MCs. After getting over that, the story, especially Aaron's behavior, [...]

    3. Aaron is 58. Rafael is 25. They meet at a gay bar that caters to older men. They hook up later and Rafael wants more and he eventually gets it.I'm all about books where there is a considerable age difference between the main characters. I seek them out for some reason and read them as quickly as I can get them on my Kindle. Unfortunately, the relationship with Aaron and Rafael did not work for me. Rafael acts younger than his 25 years and Aaron older than his 58. I could never quite get into the [...]

    4. 3.5 Aaron is 58 years old, established in his life and fairly recently having broken up with his partner of 23 years. He’s made some life changes in order to be healthy and fit and he’s content. When he meets the much younger Rafe (he’s 25) at a club, sparks fly but Aaron repeatedly pushes Rafe away after sex. Rafe is nothing if not persistent and what he wants is to get to know Aaron. So this is what they do. I loved that they didn’t happily agree with each other with everything, such a [...]

    5. This really didn't work for me, which was a shame because I like a good romance with an age difference.I particularly didn't like the element of (view spoiler)[cheating, or perceived cheating. The character of Aaron, the older man, came across as a skank at this point, and I almost stopped reading. I wanted to hit him for the way he was treating the conflicted, loving younger man, Rafe.(hide spoiler)]I also thought the jump from one-night of fun to pronouncements of love was too quick and based [...]

    6. This book just didn't work for me. I understand that sometimes couples have a large age gap and it works, but really over 20 years? Try as I might to put aside my own personal beliefs I just couldn't buy into the dynamics of this relationship. If the age difference isn't an issue for you than quite possibly you'll enjoy this story. For me it took the whole Daddy kink too far.

    7. That huge age gap didn't work for me and the Papi endearment didn't go down to well. The role-play was a weird add and threw me off completely, I didn't like it.

    8. 4.75 Stars. Originally published here: joyfullyjay/2013/03/reviewSometimes a book just does it for you. I picked up Age, Love, and Understanding with zero expectations. I’d never heard of the author, and the description sounded good, but not extraordinary. And I loved it. It hit all of my buttons: two smart, good-looking men; an age-difference story with a bit of a Daddy kink; and a powerful love that is able to overcome all obstacles.Aaron Bancroft is reinventing himself. He’s 58 years old, [...]

    9. Review written for MM Good Book Reviewsmmgoodbookreviews.wordpress/Aaron Bancroft understands his life perfectly. He is a middle-aged man, recently out of a twenty-three year relationship, and with a well-kept body that leads to a very attractive appearance. Taking small step Aaron steadily makes his way toward new connections. His life has still a lot to give him and he understands that he is capable for more. What Aaron doesn’t understand is a young man, who could well be his son, named Rafa [...]

    10. 3.5 stars.I picked up this book because of May-December pairing. It's always interesting for me to see how a couple with age gap can manage it. So here we've got over double-age gap, and both man perfectly work it out.I like both MCs, they've got strong chemistry, and some sex scenes were really hot. Aaron has very likable character, he's positive, steady, definitely smart and he's (which I liked the most) not a dramaqueen with all that dramaqueen stuff. He's understanding, polite, and I complet [...]

    11. top2bottomreviews.wordpress/3.75 Kisses! This is the first book I’ve read by Evan Gilbert and it definitely won’t be my last. I enjoyed the banter and chemistry between the two heroes as well as the story they told.I love May/December romances, so when I read the blurb on this book, I knew I had to read it. One of the things that I thought was refreshing about this story was how each man didn’t really dwell on their age difference. There were many other things that threatened to keep them f [...]

    12. Age, Love and Understanding is a pleasant little book about a "May-November" romance between Rafe (a young closeted Hispanic kid) and Aaron (a fifty-something attorney/law professor). Surprisingly, age is not the primary issue that drives the conflict in this story. Rafe is closeted and Aaron is not: that is the conflict in this story. There is one little side-story concerning Aaron's performing some legal work for Rafe's brother, but that does not detract for the story. This is a sweet and unpr [...]

    13. Surprisingly cute and sexy. I liked the may/december relationship as well as its interracial aspect, even though the latter isn't an issue in the story. It held more to its plot than I had initially expected with Rafael's brother's insurance problems, as well as the in the blurb stated problem with Rafe being in the closet. And unlike some other reviewer here I kind of enjoyed the way Rafael was forced out of his closet (I think it would have taken a very long time for him to d so on his own). I [...]

    14. I liked the story. My problems were at the end. (view spoiler)[ I do not get the feeling that Rafe would have come out to his parents at any point in the future. That being said I kind of felt cheated when he and Aaron were caught in flagrante delicto. It was a push however I was willing to work with it because I liked both characters. Problem was there wasn't much to work with after the incident. It was rushed and the breakfast with Aarons brother and nephew was odd. Not that anything bad happe [...]

    15. I'm not sure how I feel about this book. I didn't mind the age difference and I thought they made a delightful pair. The only thing that did bother me was a scene in the first part of the book. It didn't really fit in with the rest of the story, and by the time I realized what was happening, the impression I had of Aaron and Rafe was tainted, if not ruined. Still, I'm glad I read it and would recommend it for the age gap alone.

    16. Something about this book did not work for me sounded like a great story when I picked it up two guys meet at a bar/lounge.s very much older then the other, there attracted to one another.ey leave have great sex I thought I would see more chemistry between the MC the story didn't show them being together day by day having the relationship grow it was poorly done. For 200 Nook pages it could have been much better.I do not recommend.

    17. I'm really disappointed. The blurb sounded so good. *sighs*I love couples with age differences, even if it is as big as in this story. But it didn't work for me in this case.I couldn't feel any chemistry between the two men and couldn't connect with them. The whole "relationship" felt false and fell flat for me.

    18. I was fine with the age gap and how they started out. I liked the book, it was okay. I just couldn't get into the story. A couple of scenes made me chuckle, but it got kind of boring and there was "cheating" so to speak. The ending was nice.
