    1. This book is definitely worth reading! It's honest and heartfelt and an incredible story of a little girl growing up in unbelieveably sad circumstances and yet who has this constant hope and faith in love and in pursuit of something better for herself. The author tells her story with remarkable truth and honesty. It's so easy to connect with the author as you read her story and feel so touched by her as a true survivor. The story is well told and written, the author adds a perfect touch of humou [...]

    2. I read Yearnings for Nothings and Nobodies this past weekend and I LOVED it. I literally read it in a day and couldn't tear myself away from it. I really thought Rachael's story was so powerful and that she told it so well. I think she is an incredible writer, and given that this is her first book I am totally impressed! Every bit of her book just touched me and allowed me to see the world through a wider lense. I really loved how much she revealed about herself and the people around her, I love [...]

    3. Anyone who enjoys memoirs will find this book a great read. I won an ARC of this title (possibly because my account reflects my interest in reading about drug abuse) and I would most definitely recommend it. One of the beauties of memoirs is the ability of the reader to slip seamlessly into someone else's life through the pages, and this book has the added bonus of reading like a page-turning novel.Yearnings for Nothings and Nobodies forces the reader to reconsider the rippling effect that one [...]

    4. I really loved this book. It reminded me of two other favorites, Bastard Out of Carolina by Dorothy Allison and The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. Rachel Biggs writes as though she's got a secret she's whispering and you and can't help but listen. She writes with a level of raw intimacy that is contagious. I couldn't put her book down. There were nights when I would fall asleep at midnight, only to wake up in the wee hours of the morning to finish where I'd left off. Another aspect about this [...]

    6. This was a bruiser of a book! Great read. Honest in the kind of way you can only be by having lived through the experiences, having a keen ability for introspection, and the raw 'Fuck it' courage to write it down for the others to read. I read it much faster than most of my reads.

    7. This book is a poignant and, powerfully written, memoir of a very courageous and bright young woman, raised in acutely difficult circumstances, as she begins her journey, starting at age 11, struggling to seek her own place in the world and yearning for a better life. Her fifteen-year journey is anything but straight, with the tortuous path littered with various boyfriends displayingoutrageous behaviors, false prophets promising a better and more exciting life, and a dizzying array of temporary [...]

    9. I received a copy of 'Yearning for Nothings and Nobodies' through and enjoyed the book. The book is the author's account of her life with emphasis on her relationships with her Mother and Father and the life choices she made in her teens and twenty's. Rachael does a wonderful job describing her life and her emotions at any given period. It is interesting to see how she reacts to adversity in life, especially knowing the she ends with publishing a novel! Although, I enjoyed Biggs' writing style [...]

    10. This is a fantastic book, and shocking that it is the author's first. Authentic and unbelievable, scary, heartbreaking, and hilarious--a story that will move you whether male, female, young, old, parent or child. I looked forward to it every night--hated putting it down. In the right hands, this could be a wonderful film too, for all those non-readers out there. Excellent.

    11. I received this book as a First Reads from .I really liked this book, because I related to a lot of it. Some of the anecdotes were sordid and depressing, but well told. Good solid story-telling.

    12. I could feel all the emotions that this author talked about and expressed. It is so very well written. For this to be true and she turned out so well rounded is amazing. I could not even begin to imagine what that life must have been like. I cried at the end.

    13. Great book! Couldn't put it down once I started. Rachael Biggs shares her story of growth and self discovery in a way that draws you in and makes you relate and sympathize to her character throughout the story. I was riveted in my seat for the entire journey.-m
