    1. I was lucky to receive an advanced review copy of Lesser Evils, so this review will contain absolutely no spoilers. I very much enjoyed this, the second novel in the “Brimstone Angles” series. Erin M. Evans is becoming one of the Forgotten Realms rising stars, and is well deserving of every bit of praise I intend to lavish upon her. With her twin tiefling protagonists, Farideh and Havilar, Evans has created a pair that will steal your heart…or perhaps cut it out. Her characterization of th [...]

    2. Twilight of the Forgotten RealmsAfter reading this book something had bothered me, and I couldn't really put my finger exactly what it was. And then it struck me in a terrible realization WHAT was it that I didn't really like about Farideh and her teenage love and hate relationship with Lorcan This book is the equivalent of Twilight, but set in Forgotten Realms world , where vampire was swapped for a devil, and an un-ordindary girl for even less ordinary tiefling girl. Somehow this bitter revela [...]

    3. Lesser Evils is Erin Evans’ second book revolving around the twin sisters, Feridah and Havilar. Her first book, Brimstone Evils, introduces these characters under the Legends of Neverwinter story line and continues to add depth and dimension to each character and their relationship to each other and those around them. Lesser Evils picks up where Brimstone Angels leaves off but there is very little reference to the original that the reader can consider each a solid standalone novel. I would con [...]

    4. Erin M. Evans follows up the wonderful Brimstone Angels with this sequel; it is her best work yet.Beginning shortly after Brimstone Angels we find Farideh and party in Waterdeep. While in the city Farideh's ability to find entanglements where a multitude of power groups intertwine comes to the for and leads to a search for an ancient Netherese library. With a party composed of individuals with very different goals, most hidden from the others, the developments plot and intercharacter relations a [...]

    5. Strong warlock women and clumsy paladin boys trapped in a mystical library with evil intentions. A brainy, magical adventure with good exposition on the priestly powers and their struggles. This was the perfect background research on the intricacies of warlock pacts for my character in Neverwinter Online.

    6. Just finished this and honestly, quite stunned. Not to Erin's obvious talent, but to the detail of the storytelling, adventure, and character development that is this novel. I loved Brimstone Angels, and this book takes it a new level. Forget the IP, Forget the chatter, If you love fantasy at allREAD THESE BOOKS!

    7. If you enjoy your D&D in book form, this one's pretty good. I'll probably read the next and see how the Brimstone Angles trilogy ends. At least, I think its a trilogy :)

    8. Who do you trust? The Paladin or the Devil? The Harper or the Zhentarim? Another great read with WONDERFUL characters. Bravo!

    9. Lorcan, as a character, is amazing. The relationship with Farideh feels forced, and somewhat pathetic.

    10. This is better than the first book. There are less devils involved in this story, so I was less distracted by there annoying portrayal in D&D. This is a straight up D&D adventure for the most part. The new characters are a bit shallow but enjoyable non the less. Farideh and company get sucked into a races to a lost netherese archive against Shadovar forces. Good comradery. The mysteries in the archive are fun to see unfold. My one problem, which is a little of hold over from the previous [...]

    11. The plot was great. But Farideh disappointed me. I loved that she was young and unassuming but this Lorcan love/hate mess is just an awful read. I kept skipping pages they were together. How many times can he be awful and everyone tell her to ditch him? She obviously knows best. Such a shame, I don't like watching good characters be repetitively stupid for the sake of a romance arc. I adored the plot here, but both romance angles were an epic fail. I hope Farideh gains some sense and a backbone [...]

    12. An excellent follow-up to Brimstone Angels. Evans' lovable characters continue to grow as they embark on a new adventure into an ancient wizard's lair.

    16. Ahh, Wizards of the Coast/TSR "hit or miss" D&D fantasy novels. How you've been a friend over the years when my brain is too tired to handle anything else. ;)"Brimstone Angels: Lesser Evils" is one of the newer D&D novels, it came out just recently and is the second book in the "Brimstone Angels" series. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the protagonists, a pair of devil-touched twin girls; one a warlock and the other a warrior. With a dragonborn foster father. (Yes, they really tried t [...]

    17. Once again, this was the audiobook version, as with the previous book in the series. The same narrator did this book, which was helpful, though there was a slight hiccup about midway through the book where chapter 12 was included twice, the first time with a different narrator who used different pronunciations for names and places which was jarring, but which I might have avoided by simply reading to the other one. If you are listening to this through audible, be on the lookout for that. It's th [...]

    18. Oh no! Maybe if I had read book one first I would have enjoyed this one more. It was ok. The beginning was slow, the printing was sloppy (could have just been my copy), and the story was hard to jump into (probably because it is book two). About half of the book is stuck in the same town. It wasn't until they finally left town that I became interested in the story at all. The action was vivid and exciting! The description of the settings and the magic was very well done. The traps were intriguin [...]

    19. A great follow up to Brimstone Angels. It has a perfect mixture of character development, banter and mystery - while also slowly moving along the overarching events. The main quest itself is a good enough story on its own - adding characters like Dahl, who aren't likeable on the surface, but have a lot of history going on makes it a brilliant read. Action is nicely contained, helping to ramp up the stakes, but not take over everything. I listened to this on audiobook and should comment that as b [...]

    20. Very good read.It has been a while reading a FR book so rich of the lore. Normally authors dont get too involved in the general lore of the setting besides their hero and its small circle. What really hooked me to this book besides good storytelling and characters is Erin Evans makes you feel she knows and cares about Forgotten Realms. As a fan this makes me want to read more and more books from her.

    21. Finished this one by the pool today. Very happy with it. The closing seems to lead up to "The Sundering" series. Quality to me was even better then the first one. Not so much dramatic whining from the new character. Less about one person and more about the storyline of a party on one heck of an adventure. I am enjoying Erin M. Evans way of storytelling. Can't wait to see where the story and her characters go. I hope for as many books as from R.A. Salvatore in this character.

    22. I really enjoyed this sequel--a great adventure story with a fun group of adventurers. The protaganists are fascinating, the father daughter interaction is fun, and the romance stuff is nice to see. If you are newish to the Forgotten Realms I think Erin's books are likely some of the best introductions to what is currently going on. Fun, fast read.

    23. Overall a great story. Though about the middle of the book it begins to become stale because the characters are trapped in a library. But powering through that small staleness, the climax is exciting and worth it. And the ending has set up an interesting story arc for Farideh that I look forward to reading.

    24. This was not significantly better than the last one. I still don't get why anyone is doing anything. I don't believe they would react how they do often and as an avid romance reader I don't believe the romances. I read these books because they relate to The Sundering series that just came out but otherwise I wouldn't recommend them.

    25. Now, that's more like it. This story picks up where the previous book left off. The tiefling twins are separated from Mehen and led off into an adventure of ginormous proportions. This book was a fun read, captivating from start to finish, and the setup for the next book was well done.
