    1. I was very excited to read this book. The explanation and testing section of the book were excellent and I enjoyed knowing where the resources came from. When it came to the recipe section I was disappointed. I am not going to be cooking grilled romaine lettuce anytime soon. Some of the recipes are great like the stovetop oatmeal with blueberry maple syrup. However most of the recipes I just would not make as go to meals, I would have to spend extra time and effort to want to make them. This is [...]

    2. This is by far the best of the gluten-free cookbooks I've read so far. In fact, it's really just a great guide for people who may not know much about celiac disease and need support figuring everything out. The whole first section of the book is discussion of conditions, what gluten is and what it's in, etc, etc. I also really liked that the recipe section focused on foods that are naturally gluten-free, rather than just replacing conventional flour with specialty flours. The only downside for m [...]

    3. An excellent beginners guide to Gluten Free foods! Also, it's a well made and laid out book so it's easy on the eyes. There were lots of recipes I added to pinterest to try later so I can't speak on how well any of them turned out yet. But I have to say if you're just looking into ridding gluten from your life this book will help you understand it. I might check out of the library a second time, later, in order to have a refresher. Or better yet, I've entered to win it so maybe I can have a copy [...]

    4. Super friendly for people not used to cooking; I looked through the gluten-free shelf at the bookstore before choosing this one, and too many had recipes for showing off/entertaining as their focus. (Caviar??? I just want to eat, jfc) The references at the front are useful on their own. And over-all, I like the focus on foods that are inherently safe, rather than expensive or complicated pseudo-breads and pastas.

    5. I borrowed The Complete Guide to Naturally Gluten-Free Foods from the library in an attempt to learn more about gluten-free foods, of which I knew very little about and thought of as a fad diet. After reading it however, I've learned that gluten can cause serious medical problems and pursuing a gluten-free diet is a scientifically-backed recommendation to ease the symptoms of gluten intolerance and celiac disease. The book gives a comprehensive introduction to gluten intolerance, the author's per [...]
