    1. Martin Wood did a splendid job recounting the adventures of famed interior decorator Sister Parish. She started out renting a space in New Jersey for $35 a month and ended in New York making millions each year. In many ways she was winging it in the beginning, but clearly she had an instinct like no other. Her story inspired me and I look forward reading Martin's takes on John Fowler and Nancy Lancaster.

    2. Very good, well documented book on the interior decor style of Dorothy May 'Sister' Parish working in America in the 1920s to the 1990s. Produced a very good calm designs designs with a strong sense of luxuriousness not over-riding comfort.

    3. though more or less in coffee table book format,it is wonderfully done, with beautiful photosand information.
