    1. My first and likely only Bretta Solomon book. The main character was so unlikeable even her own employees disliked her! It was unbelievable that the sheriff would let Bretta get so involved in a murder investigation. Bretta thinks very highly of her sleuthing abilities, yet her father has to put the quite obvious pieces together for her. Won't be reading more by this author.

    2. This started off with potential, but I figured out the murderer and motive pretty quickly, a lot faster than Bretta, the local florist and sleuth. The clues might as well have had flashing signs next to them. They were that obvious.Plus, I didn't get the whole deal with Bretta and her boyfriend. He showed up briefly at the beginning, blew her off, and then showed up at the end trying to be all romantic. She should've told the jerk to get lost. The relationship between Bretta and her father was al [...]

    3. Bretta gets involved in yet another murder case while attending the Parker Greenhouse picnic. She gets so involved in the murder case that she neglects her flower business, but Lew and Lois put their annoyance aside and try to help her figure out the clues. Bretta's Dad, although, not openly getting involved, is keeping a close eye on Bretta behind the scenes and helps get her out of trouble.I love reading these books, but I'd hate to hang out with Bretta because she's been involved in 5 murders [...]

    4. Not a fan. Clues so obvious that I had figured out the culprit and the motive well before the detective. Law enforcement figures that served only as garnish. Fairly dark in spots and a surprisingly negative conclusion for a quasi-cozy mystery. I usually give an author two chances before I decide they're not for me, but I'm not sure I have the stomach for it with this one.

    5. Not the best mystery out there. I had figured out one of the hitches well before Bretta did. And I disliked most of the characters immediately. It did get better by the middle of the novel, but I dint think I'd read any more in this series.

    6. I honestly could not really get into this book. Parts that were supposed to be intense or exciting were just boring for me.
