    1. Temple head for New York City to spend Christmas with her Aunt Kitty. Kitty is a former actress, now a famed mystery writer, and is determined to get an agent for Temple and Louie, who may have a big future in cat food commercials. Of course, murder is not exclusive to Las Vegas, and Temple finds a dead Santa Claus impersonator. Max appears like magic to protect Temple, but of course it is Midnight Louie who points the way to the culprit.

    2. This is my first Midnight Louie mystery and let me tell you, I loved it better than he loves catnip! It's Christmastime in the big city and Midnight Louie (along with his human companion Temple Barr) are painting the town gold! Midnight Louie is in line to be the official spokescat and he's on his best behavior. That is, until he sniffs out a murder of a guy dressed as Santa Claus. Oh dear!I love cozy mysteries and this one is a treat! You get the POV of both Temple and Midnight Louie. Midnight [...]

    3. Anyone with a decent history class would be familiar with the basic concepts on Vietnam presented in this book. The main character was born after the 60/70's and is unfamiliar with Vietnam. As the reader, you find out what the main character does as she researches the war to solve a murder. Written pre-2001 and set in NY, there is some nostalgic value and anyone who has been to the city both pre- and post 911 can appreciate the description of the city offered in Douglas' work. The murder itself i [...]

    4. Temple Barr just can't stay out of trouble, even when visiting another city! What I really liked most about this installment of the series was the introduction of Matt Devine's family and the telling of more of his backstory. I love Temple's Aunt Kit, so was quite pleased to see her play a role here, even if it was fairly minor this time around. I've not yet made up my mind about the Mystifying Max. I guess I'd better keep reading to see what happens further along in the series.

    5. This book was B-O-R-I-N-G!! Giving up after 135 pages. There is no story here!!! I just spent 20 minutes of my life reading three pages about cat breeds. Yep, it took 20 minutes to read three long boring pages. Fail!

    6. This is the first I have read of Midnight Louie. These books are similar to the "Cat Who" books however the cat in these actually narrates sometimes. It is quite clever and over all a good read =^_^= I already started another one, the characters already have me hooked!

    7. Temple and Louie go to New York, New York to audition for a cat food commercial during the Christmas season. Santa winds up dead and it's time for amateur sleuthing by feline and petite femme. This is the book where Temple buys Matt the famous red couch and Matt explores Temple's neckline.

    8. I found this book in a little corner in the "library" on the cruise ship this spring break. I read it within 4 days it was so good! The mystery keeps you focused as does the hilarious troubles of Miss Temple Barr and Louie!

    9. Another great installment in the Midnight Louie series, especially since this one focused a little more on Matt and also contained a surprise visit from the Mystifying Max to Temple in NYC what a fabulous series!

    10. I enjoy this author. I reread this book last year and enjoyed it, and I'm trying to work on getting more by her

    11. A quick little mystery staring Midnight Louie who discovers something in the chimney of a holiday party that shouldn't be there.
