Struggling to find a way to gain peace, we find an unlikely marriage that reminds us of Romeo and Juliet. As the story starts we find Bianca degli Albizzi following her brother’s and a few of his friends into enem [...]

    3. 4 and 1/2 Stars! A Wonderful Dive into Renaissance Italy and a Great Love StoryFirst in Corti-Petska’s Italian Medieval Series set in 15th century Renaissance Italy, this tells the story of the “lily,” Bianca Albizzi, who is forced to marry the handsome young Medici heir, the “falcon,” Cristiano de’Medici, to end the rivalry between their two powerful families. But Bianca’s brother blames Cristiano and the Medici for their mother’s death and plots against him. Bianca is caught in [...]

    4. Meeeh - I guess this was a nice enough romance book. Though really while reading it, I kind of felt like "been there done that". So first of, this entire dispute between two families, conveniently set in Italy, screamed Romeo and Juliette a little too loudly. The words leaped off the page and kept me reading [...]

    5. This is a re-release through a different publisher. I have to be careful while reading this book - almost missed my Metro stop this morning. I do have a bias since Wait a Lonely Lifetime is also set in Florence (20thC).Now that I have finished this book, I confess I actually did miss my stop this afternoon on the homeward-bound journey. That says it all for being engrossed in the story. Entertaining and an interesting look at the Medici l [...]
